8 Strada Statale 223, 53016, Murlo
Been here?
A flat wild spot down a small stony path beside the SS223, with room to turn around a 6.50m motorhome. Recent reports describe a quiet location where the road is barely audible, though one recent account reported nighttime vehicle traffic and suspicious activity nearby. The area has a forest setting and a view from higher up.

WARNING. The place itself is very nice, with a lovely view at the edge of the forest, BUT the night was strange: several people were on the forest path behind us, carrying walkie-talkies, whistling, and cars passing by. Some people stayed on the path all night, waiting in the dark. The police came in the morning to tell us not to stay overnight because there were “bad people” around.
Quiet place; you can't hear the road. Even in rainy weather, we could maneuver our 7-meter motorhome easily.
Quiet place. At the top there is a beautiful view; if you drive down the path, you can park somewhere out of sight. If you walk a little along the field near the “hills,” you will see that you can even drive a 4x4 through a dried-up riverbed, now just stones, to a very remote place without a road! Unfortunately, we didn't record it as a location.
We stayed here one night. Very quiet. Small slope but easy to level. It is shame locals will throw some of their trash in the area. Just park on edge and you don’t notice. Would stay again.
Thank you so much for sharing this super-quiet spot, peaceful and surrounded by nature, with no vehicle traffic and easy access, while still close to the main road and with 4G. Perfect for one night on the way to Siena :-) As for those who look for a place in nature and then complain about mosquitoes... just close the mosquito screens :-))
