278 Rue Ancienne Route de Franchesse, 03160, Bourbon-l'Archambault
Been here?
Quiet castle parking with tables and toilets. Main services at town edge. Narrow access road with overgrown vegetation; large motorhomes may struggle. Official policy restricts overnights, but recent travelers report successful night stays, particularly to watch castle sound-and-light shows. Best for arriving in evening when day traffic clears.

Very good location; the trees have been trimmed, so access is no problem.Translating
Ideal for visiting. Large car park with toilets, bins and picnic tables.Translating
The vegetation has grown considerably, making it difficult for large vehicles. The access is somewhat winding, but once parked it is absolutely peaceful and perfectly restful. No services here, but they are available at the edge of town. Thanks to the municipality for welcoming us.Translating
Low branches limit the parking possibilities. The access road is narrow, but a 7 m motorhome can get through.Translating
Great place, very quiet outside the “sound and light” season. Access is somewhat difficult with a trailer.Translating
Excellent and very quiet. Perfect for seeing the sound-and-light show projected onto the castle. Thank you to this municipality for welcoming us so well!Translating
Great spot. Quiet here. There is no show every evening in July and August 2024.Translating
Lovely quiet and green camper site. Ideal for an overnight stop while travelling. Even with a 7.2 m campervan there is no problem (the access road is narrow, but manageable). In the evening we were treated to a sound-and-light show on the castle walls, repeated several times. It was not disturbing after we went to sleep following the second showing.Translating
Compared with the photo shown, the trees have grown since then, so it is becoming difficult to park, and after all the rain the ground is very unstable. Cars park at the bottom. Otherwise, the village is pleasant, with a beautiful castle and a very good PÉPIT trail.Translating
Very well-located place, quiet and 10 minutes from the town centre.Translating
Great spot with a sound-and-light show! Just be aware that the show ends at midnight from May to September!Translating
Perfect for watching the castle light show! Close to town (the route includes stairs) and very quiet.Translating
Great place with a view of the castle; we were able to watch the rehearsal of the sound-and-light show from our motorhome.Translating
Castle car park, on grass (beware in rainy weather). Tables and trees. Very quiet. All shops are in the village, 10 minutes away. Pleasant exhibition and artistic displays at the foot of the tower. THANK YOU.Translating
There are hard-standing spaces and others on grass. Nice place for a break.Translating
Do not come here when it’s wet and rainy! We parked on the gras and got so stuck that we had to be towed away. The gravel part of the parking lot is ok. Also, at this time of year there is a light show on the castle with extremely loud music, that just keeps going on repeat. I guess in summer this place would be fine.
