22 Rua de Damão, 4450-108, Matosinhos
Been here?
A large, free dirt parking area near Matosinhos beach and Porto, with a tram stop about 50 metres away. It has no services and many deep potholes, measuring 8-12 inches in places, especially near the entrances. The area is busy with cars during the day but can be quiet at night, although traffic noise, motorbikes, aircraft and early morning activity are possible. Shops and restaurants are nearby.

The best place to visit Porto and go to Matosinhos Beach. Apparently a park-and-ride parking lot for the tram, somewhat dirty but perfectly functional, just 50 m from the tram that takes you to central Porto. Safe; there is a parking attendant during the day and a motorhome that seems to live there. We stayed for two days without any security problems.Translating
Large dirt parking area with huge 8-12 inch deep potholes throughout but especially on the entrances. Used by lots of cars in the day, but only about 1/4 full at night. We stayed on a Tuesday night. Loud motorbikes and cars racing around on the main roads around until about 1 am, started against 0600. Constant humming noise from the port. Not a good sleep at all.
Large parking lot, so we were able to find a quiet spot at the back and were not disturbed. Many cars park there in the morning, but it remains calm. The location is perfect, with the tram next door and supermarkets and restaurants nearby, without hearing city noise. We stayed for two nights.Translating
We always went to the public area at Río Tinto, but when it closed we found this parking lot. It is closer to Porto and very convenient. It is true that there is a lot of litter, but there is litter everywhere in Porto in general. Even so, we now think it is the best option.Translating
Quiet dirt parking lot. Ideal for visiting Porto. Metro stop very close.Translating
A pleasant experience, but the place is dirty and personally it did not make me feel safe. Nevertheless, I spent two days and one night there without problems. On the positive side, it is large, there are many shops nearby, and most importantly, the metro station is two minutes away, making it easy to visit and enjoy Porto. The only facility is rubbish containers.Translating
Excellent option. I stayed there for three nights without any problems. Metro line A is opposite McDonald’s and takes you either into the city or in the other direction to Matosinhos Beach. Superb beach. Another option is bus 500, which you take by the beach on the parallel street; it takes you into the city while following the entire coast. Splendid!Translating
Parking without services, well located for accessing the beach and going to Porto. Many cars during the day but quiet at night. The only drawbacks are the seagulls and airplanes, and the lack of rubbish bins, as the parking lot is not very clean—but you cannot have everything.Translating
We spent one night here because we could not find anywhere else in Porto that felt safe and was level. When we arrived, we found other motorhomes, which gave us more confidence. We saw several homeless people around, and occasionally heard an airplane. Even so, it is a quiet place with little traffic.Translating
Warning, unsafe place! We were woken at 4 a.m. by voices around the van and banging on the bodywork. The people fled when they heard noise, but they punctured a front tire before leaving. We quickly left for a safer place.Translating
Very large parking lot without services. Good connections to the city center and also close to the beach, which is within walking distance. The parking lot is quite full during the day, but you can always find a space. We stayed here for three nights and felt safe.Translating
The place is safe and very spacious. There is a supermarket with toilets and a tram station five minutes away. The city center is 35 minutes by tram. Ten minutes away by car there is even a world pizza champion, Antonio Mezzero. Yes, there is litter despite the bins, and in the morning the seagulls and airplanes are noisy.Translating
It is a large open area that fills with cars. I do not recommend sleeping there because the airplanes, seagulls and metro are very loud. The beach is 15 minutes away.Translating
Of course there are no services, but it is very quiet, 15 minutes on foot from the ocean, with shops nearby and a tram and bus to Porto two minutes away.Translating
We spent the day there. No services, but a huge parking lot in a residential neighborhood. We were the only van staying overnight, but during the day the parking lot fills up, as there is a hospital nearby. The Porto tram is a two-minute walk away, very convenient for visiting the city.Translating
