Been here?
This is a small, clean and quiet reservoir car park where an honesty-box donation is requested; a recent comment considered £10 expensive without facilities. It has attractive reservoir views, picnic tables and some bins. The area is peaceful overnight, although passing cars and occasional midges have been reported.

Nice, clean and quiet little carpark that is well worth the honesty box donation. The guy in the corner in his small caravan is no problem at all. The area by his caravan is neat and tidy and we said a quick friendly hello in the morning. Picnic tables on a small grass area too.
Stayed last night. Matty in the caravan was friendly. He is working in the area and off travelling to the lake district soon as he has more work. Good night stay. yes a few midges in the evening but not to bad.
Decided to give this carpark a try, only to find 2 caravans and small van permanently parked up beginning to take over! 2 of the caravan owners came back for a short while then drove off again, after blasting their music and wheel spinning away. Whilst there we saw 3 cars pull in and drive off. I wonder where they are all depositing their toilet waste ?!
Had no trouble here, nice views. There is currently a guy staying there long term called Matty (probably the guy mentioned in the comments below) - he came over for a chat, we enjoyed his company and then he left us to it. A little bit midgey but otherwise a pleasant evening.
Stayed here for 1 night, nice, quiet and clean. when we arrived there was a caravan that seemed to have been there some while and the man in it put my on edge a bit, talking to him self and asking strange questions but didn't give us any other problems. Money paid into the honestly box and off we went.
Lovely spot, small but still beautiful with a few benches to sit and eat on the grass. The farmer even came in to spread some muck on the fields and gave us a little wave. Little secured donation box ready to accept its well deserved donation.
Nice place, very peaceful
Arrived Saturday afternoon and was just us and another van which arrived later on. Quite muddy at the moment and not particularly level but was nice and quiet overnight. The carpark has a couple of bins and picnic tables with a decent view of the reservoir. There is an honesty box with "suggested" amounts depending on the vehicle. Suggests £10 for a campervan.
Arrived Sunday afternoon- several cars with walkers/cyclists but still plenty of room for us. We were alone after 5pm. Beautifully location, very quiet. Woke to birdsong and sunshine. Nearby village if Ramsgill is pretty but the walk is along the road. Plenty of birds on reservoir. Would come again. £10 is a good deal as there are bins and picnic tables too.
nice quiet spot, bar a few cars passing in the night. safe and 2 other campers there also for the night. £10 in the honesty box.
Lovely and quiet, had the place to myself. A bit muddy in areas, will be back. Posted my money into the box.
Quiet spot, just us and one other camper on the night we stayed. Not all the car park is a level area.
Brilliant stay. Quiet and minimal traffic.
We had a night here and were the only ones in the car park. Very quiet once the farm vehicles powering up and down the road had finished for the night. How lovely to be made to feel welcome in a parking area in the UK. We put £10 in the honesty box because we thought they deserve to be encouraged.
Fantastic quiet Saturday night. Great views and hardly any other users. They're asking £10 for motohomes in the honesty box, which I paid as it was well worth it. Let's keep places like this going.
Really decent place for an overnight spot. Some sloping ground so choose your spot wisely, quite wet and muddy in gateway during rain, but very quiet. One other van there when we were. Good view of the reservoir. Steam nearby. No toilets or waste or electric. Some picnics benches. Road very quiet at night. Honesty box if you want to donate. We gave £5.
The car park was far too small for me! But I got permission from the owner of the riding school to spend the night in their private car park. For which I am grateful.
