Unnamed Road, 3400, Montana
Been here?
A wild lakeside spot beside a reservoir, used by fishermen and surrounded by several caravans. The reservoir is currently high, and the broken access road disappears into the water, leaving only a few trackside parking places. Local people may swim or use jet skis in the evening, but nights are calm. There is considerable litter on the ground.

We spent one quiet night beside the lake. At the end of the day there were many locals who came to swim or jet-ski, but once night fell everything was quiet. There are several caravans around the lake. We stayed on the main track. The only drawback: lots of rubbish on the ground.
Very beautiful view, but as of April 2026 the lake is currently so high that the road completely disappears under water. Several caravans are parked on both sides of the road, having been moved to safety from the water. The nearby church must also now be flooded.
The broken up road is in worse condition than previously but still drivable slowly. The reservoir is a lot fuller than this time last year so the only parking is in a couple of spots on the track with two wheels on the verge. Don't park within a couple of hundred meters of the water as local fishermen need the space to launch, turn and park with trailers. Quiet at night apart from the Jackels.
Quiet night, fairly clean, and a nice walk around the lake. Fishermen arrive in the morning, but they are very considerate.
Large parking area right by the lake. Poor access, with huge potholes in the asphalt. We stayed here for one night; it was quiet and peaceful. Local fishermen arrived in the morning to fish.
I arrived by night. very quiet night, felt good. plenty of space to park. in the morning fantastic view. there are many caravans along the shore but they seem all empty and probably used by locals to spend the weekend. recommended spot.
Bumpy road down but quite doable. With the reservoir so low at the moment, a huge area for parking, although stay on the compacted paths if wet. Once you get used to the surreal surface of a lake bed, it's really quite a pleasant place with nice views and very peaceful. A couple of boats being launched each day but that's about it.
We stopped a little ahead. A beautiful place to stay overnight. The water is warm like milk. Beautiful landscape around - lake and mountains. Lots of fishermen, but no one seemed to know when we stayed there.
You can drive directly to the water via a bumpy asphalt road. Lots of space, quiet, and occasionally friendly locals. It is better not to drive on the other paths around the lake when it is wet.
