E0 Spartis Mistra, 231 00, Sparti
Been here?
A basic overnight parking area near central Sparta, with space along a bend set back from the road. It is a practical base for visiting the city, with the archaeological site and Leonidas statue 12 min on foot. Nights are generally quiet, though occasional dogs, passers-by or road noise may occur. The GPS point is incorrect; the entrance is on the other side of the bridge via a dirt track, not the narrow lane.

Perfect spot to spend the night, near to centre. space to pull in along U-bend, just far enough away from the road. Couple of dogs barking at night, but nothing that disturbed us. Friendly walkers in the morning, & plenty of chirping birds. Pin at entrance to side road. Look on Google satellite view to see side road and park up accurately. Thanks for sharing.
It was a quiet night, although a few people do pass by from time to time.
Very good for one night and visiting Sparta, a 12-minute walk from the statue of Leonidas and the archaeological site. A silent and peaceful night for us.
Okay for one night, but not quiet. The site is not maintained, and the tall grass makes it inconvenient to park off the track. I imagine it depends on the season. I asked support to correct the GPS location; that should resolve the routing issues.
Excellent! Okay for passenger cars; take route 84, “EO Spartis Mistra.” Since the parking area is not listed on Maps, the GPS will not take you there.
Good parking area. We spent one night here. Fairly quiet place. The GPS coordinates are wrong. Enter 37.0720612, 22.4195005.
Be careful, the GPS marker is incorrect. Do not enter the small lane; the parking area is just across the bridge, along a dirt track. Large space very close to the city and road, but acceptable, especially since there are few options nearby for a large motorhome.
Easy to find using Google Satellite; see below. Quiet and a little shaded, with good mobile reception.
We spent a quiet night here. Good starting point for visiting Sparta.
Warning: Google Maps does not lead to this spot but to a narrow lane on the other side of the river.
It is not a particularly attractive place, but we spent a quiet night here and nobody passes by. Very close to the center, with a children’s playground 200 meters away. A good option in Sparta.
