Not a very glamorous spot, but it has the merit of existing. We simply emptied our grey water and filled up with water. The young people hanging around did not make us want to stay overnight.
Perfect for an overnight stop; services and pitches are free. A small electrical socket limited to a maximum of 300 W. Young people come in the evening and charge their scooters or phones. Thanks to van owners who arrive at 11 p.m., slam their side doors, and park in a way that prevents you from leaving.
This is not artisanal at all but a proper service area, with free services including free electricity. Suitable for all types of motorhomes, even those over 7.10 metres.
Perfect for refilling water; the pitches were taken. The area does not look very safe, so we continued our journey.
Excellent—very clean—for a quick stop and free water refill.
Drove in last night, all 3 places taken, which is fair enough, BUT... a group of about 20 rowdy youths were installed in the park about 15m away. We started driving away and some of them came towards us, the most worrying of which, a kami kazi kid on an electric scooter who tried to provoke us.. as we drove away more groups of youths were arriving to join their mates. Definitely not recommended
There are only three parking spaces and they were occupied.
Hello, very pleasant parking area, but we were aggressively woken at 12:30 a.m. by a supposed elected official from the municipality with a strong smell of alcohol. We had to leave the area and go to another car park, as the space is limited to three motorhomes and there were five of us.
Many thanks to the municipality: very clean, quiet, beautiful place to spend the night, with grey-water and chemical-toilet services and rinse water, all completely free. Please respect this place and leave it as you found it.
We arrived late at night and there seemed to be a fence blocking any access, don’t think any campers will have been able to stop there, shame as it seemed a nice quiet place
Still a great stop, however the rules are more strict. 48hrs in any month. Only 3 official parking spaces, overflowing will be instructed to move on. Someone comes round daily to photograph the vans. People shouting etc on Friday night until 2.30am Thursday night was quiet. Work or school in the morning. Enjoyed the Bakery shop, Match supermarket and Aldi. Military cemetery very interesting.
Magnificent service area, apart from the young people who do not respect us with their music and scooter stunts. The night was very difficult. On the other hand, the chips at the lower car park were incredible. We come from the south, where they do not know how to make chips, so these were a real treat. Thank you.
Nasty young people ruining the place. Do not leave without securing your belongings. It should remain free, but there needs to be more supervision so that no more than four or five people stay overnight.
We slept there for two nights. Nine motorhomes were placed without regard for safety. Above all, the presence of young people in the park during the day, and especially at night, was unsettling. Even the mayor, whom we met in the evening, asked us to be careful, and the new municipal council is considering ending the free service. We appreciated the nearby shops.
Three spaces—not bad, but some young people set off firecrackers until after midnight and rode back and forth on mopeds in front of the pitches.
Thank you to the municipality! Quiet, playground, chip shop, services, all free. Very friendly residents. Truly, thank you for the stopover.
What an awesome spot for 3 motorhomes. In the first bay the electric was not working but our 1 had two euro plugs so the MH in bay one could share our plinth. The chip shop in the car park is a bonus & really friendly. It is max 48hrs, someone from the municipality came & recorded the registrations so making it fair for everyone. Services point as well. We had a quiet night, bells stopped at 10.
Only 3 spaces, but it is free and has facilities. The electric outlet on the bay we had wasn't working but we managed to connect to the spare outlet on the bay next to us. We had a quiet night here.
Huge thanks to the municipality for the services, which are very rare in the area, and what is more, they are FREE! The water works very well and the place is clean. We were only passing through, but if we come this way again, we will use the local shops to thank the municipality! Bravo.
The town hall has provided a superb service area. Many thanks for the water, waste disposal, electricity, and clean area. Its major drawback, however, is the local population: unfortunately, it is not easy to sleep there, with lots of noise, disturbances, and drunk people. Plenty of nearby shops, which is great.
Thank you to the municipality for this area with free services. There are only three spaces and they were all occupied when we arrived, but we were able to use the services, which was enough for us. Be careful: an official was taking photos and ensuring that nobody stayed longer than 48 hours.
What a beautiful motorhome area. There are three spaces, but there is more room. Free facilities. Really excellent service from this municipality, and all of it free.
Many thanks to the municipality for providing free electricity, water, and waste disposal. We were also able to enjoy the nearby chip van. A rare and very pleasant place.
You will find everything a motorhome traveler needs: peace, greenery, waste disposal, water, electricity, and rubbish bins—all very clean, with three spaces. Please do not stay longer than 48 hours. Someone from the municipality monitors the area for everyone’s benefit. Not forgetting the price: FREE. A HUGE THANK-YOU to the municipality; we will return.
Thank you to the town of Grenay for providing a proper service area. Shops are 500 metres away, with crispy baguettes and croissants, and there is a park next door for stretching your legs, not to mention rubbish bins!
Do not park in the adjacent car park if car camping is full. The locals don’t like it.
Great place to be. They provide free electricity for three sites. What a service. Max stay 48 hours. Thanks community of Grenay!
Beautiful free place with free electricity and a disposal point for grey water and toilets. The water was not working, although it was also freezing. Close to a supermarket and a small park; it was pleasantly quiet at night. Fortunately, the church bell did not ring at night!
Brilliant aire with everything you need and it’s free including electric. There are only 3 places however some Motorhomes arrived late in the day and parked on the street but it didn’t appear to be a problem. The town also has all you’ll need to stock up and some good restaurants and takeaways.
Free motorhome area that locals use for parking, so when you arrive there is no space. What a shame.
A very pleasant surprise. The pitch is well delimited by hedges. All services are available and free. Near a large park. Vanda, our German shepherd, enjoyed stretching her legs.
Thank you to the town hall for this lovely little area near the shops, which we made good use of.
Free waste disposal and water refill services, clean and very easy to access. We did not stay there, but the pitches look very pleasant. Thank you to the municipality for these services.
Thank you for these few free, well-defined pitches with the necessary services, available, clean, and functional: grey-water disposal, black-water disposal, fresh-water refill, and electricity, all free. A large, pleasant playground for children.
We stayed three nights without the slightest problem. Many thanks to the municipality for this exceptional area where everything works. The nearby chip shop and pastry shop are outstanding. The location is well situated, close to neighboring towns for walks or bike rides. We recommend it because such places are very rare.
Thank you, Mr. Mayor, for this space dedicated to us and so well located, close to bakeries, pastry shops and other stores, and right next to the chip shop, which I highly recommend.
Lovely place, very clean. Three beautiful pitches for motorhomes with all services. Thank you to the municipality for this place. Very good chip shop nearby. Children's and adults' playground nearby.
We left again; it was already hopelessly overcrowded in the afternoon. Also, the access road is very narrow and hardly manageable for longer vehicles.
Be aware: they take daily photos of your license plate. Maximum 48 hours free parking, then you have to make room. Or pay €25 per day. It says 300 watts, but the 900-watt kettle works perfectly.
We stayed here for two nights last week. In the evening and at night it fills up; at one point there were nine campers/vans. Mainly English people using the shuttle. Good bakeries and a pleasant park with various sports activities. Good waste disposal and safe water filling because the taps are far apart. Thanks to the municipality!
Impeccable—thank you to the municipality for these free services. Be aware, there are only three spaces. We did not stay overnight, just emptied our tanks.
A very peaceful place. There is a small park next to it. Waste-water disposal, drinking water and electricity are available. Many thanks to the town hall for this pleasant place.
Great to have the option of services, but we chose not to stay. Already overcrowded on our arrival with 8 vans tightly packed, with one blocking exit at the top end. Furthermore at 7pm local youths were already gathering in the adjoining park and loudly revving car engines, loud skidding and braking, and clouds of smoke. Not likely to be a peaceful night. We made use of the services (thanks to the town for providing them) then moved on to a lovely quiet spot about 15 minutes north west by a canal where we had the place to ourselves.
Nice place for three motorhomes, with a service point for cassette emptying, fresh-water filling and free grey-water disposal. Thank you to the municipality.
Nice and tidy motorhome area, with free 230-volt electricity, maximum 300 watts. The pitches are well separated by hedges. Thank you, municipality, for making this available. A bakery and chip stand are within sight.
