Been here?
A very large, peaceful campsite beside Rutland Water, with an estimated over 100 pitches and several areas. Non-electric pitches near the lake have grand views, while water points and waste-disposal facilities are available. The modern sanitary facilities are clean but may be limited when fully occupied. The site is somewhat remote, with no nearby shop or pub, and costs £16 per night.

July 2026 and the site is open. Very large area, estimated at more than 100 pitches, divided into several sections. Without electricity, you can use the lakeside pitches with a magnificent view. The sanitary facilities are modern and clean, but probably rather limited when fully occupied. Somewhat remote, with no shop or pub nearby. But the view makes up for it.
Completely under renovation, with no signs anywhere; it's a shame :-(

stayed here on August bank holiday Sunday/Monday. lovely peaceful site, plenty of space. fresh water taps in each field and two Elsan waste disposals. great site, we'll definitely be using again.
A very large grass pitch overlooking Rutland Water. There is fresh water everywhere. No toilets or showers. £16 for the night.
Very pleasant overnight stay. Fresh water everywhere. Emptying the toilet worked. Could not find any wastewater disposal. Very spacious and beautiful views.
Stayed last week at Lyndon top. £16 per night. Brilliant stopover, huge grass areas overlooking Rutland water where you can watch the Osprey’s hunting for fish. Water taps and elsan points. No toilets or showers.
Huge area with many well maintained camping fields. I can't imagine it would ever get overcrowded. Lots of water taps, and we saw at least two black water emptying points and one area to empty bins. Security barrier on entry & exit. A great facility.
We stayed here for 1 night and it was great. £16 for the night. Large open space overlooking the lake. Will be returning for sure
Wonderful site, such value for money at £16pn. We had a lovely view, & the site warden popped over to say hello to us. Our spot didn't need chocks at all, itxs an enormous site so you will always be able to find somewhere relatively flat & near a tap. Cycle paths from the site are very hilly and rough ground, but doable if you are fairly fit. There are no facilities apart from the view though!
Brilliant campsite with amazing views over Rutland water, large enough pitches with many water points situated around the site.
Literally booked when I was at the barrier on Easter Sunday - couldn’t have been easier. Spacious site, great views. No facilities and not the most even as others have pointed out, but not an issue as well worth the price (£16).
Loved this spot. Plenty of space. Great price. And amazing views. Will definitely be visiting again.
Really nice place to stop, nice views, well maintained grounds and seems secure. Easy to book and good price for a nights stay. Don’t forget you need your own toilet, couldn’t see any on site.
A favorite campervan area! Located beside a magnificent lake, it offers incredible peace and serenity. The grounds are perfectly maintained and green. With a very pleasant and friendly welcome.
A very beautiful and peaceful place!! Booking and entry are easy; you enter with a code sent to you by email! Inexpensive—a family of four with a campervan cost us £15 per night. We missed having a proper toilet; they have a kind of dry toilet, but it is not very comfortable and is outdoors.
Fabulous site! We've just arrived, but already planning our next visit. such a friendly welcome, beautiful pitch with views of the lake and a fantastic price for a perfect spot. I wish more of these types of sites existed.
