Bergsmansvägen, 772 40, Grängesberg
Been here?
A level asphalt parking area at the train museum, where overnight stays are possible. Parking is available all year, while the museum is open June-august. The place is generally quiet and sheltered from view, but there is no shade, no services and no rubbish bin.

We also visited the museum and spent an excellent night here. Beyond the royal library, we found a military dump to the left, with a collection of old clocks.
We had a wonderfully quiet night here. It was nice to be on asphalt with all the rain recently. Beautifully level ground and a great place to stay out of sight. No bin, hence 4 stars.
Very quiet place between two museums.
We slept well here. The road and motocross track were clearly audible, but since we only wanted to spend the night here anyway, it was not a problem. No waste disposal and no bin, so take your rubbish with you to ensure the place can continue to be used.
Large, very quiet and fairly level parking area. We were there on a Sunday evening, with nobody around. The museum looks small but nice; you can see the trains from the parking area.
Well, it is a parking area in the middle of a very unattractive former mining town. Gelsenkirchen comes to mind... It is quite noisy from the surrounding roads, so we are moving on.
Possible even in winter, but it is not cleared.
