43 Strada Comunale Di Santa Lucia, 53037, San Gimignano
Been here?
Official paid motorhome parking behind a San Gimignano campsite, on gravel with little shade but flat and quiet overnight. Around €11 per 24h (about €1/hour), entered via barrier, with the bus into town included in the ticket. No water, toilets or showers on site, but free grey water dump and water fill are just outside near the football pitch/campsite, though chemical toilet emptying is only possible at the neighbouring campsite (closed off-season). A 25-40 minute walk or short shuttle ride reaches San Gimignano's gates, with nice countryside views along the way.

Good, inexpensive parking area with a nearby bus stop; a bus runs to the city every 30 minutes. You can also walk, but it takes about 40 minutes. The bus ticket is included in the parking fee. Note: no services, toilets, etc.
A basic gravel parking area, level and enclosed. No water or toilet services. There is a swimming pool, at an additional and understandable cost, which closes at 7 p.m.; excellent on hot days. A bus to the village accepts the parking card, and you must validate it when leaving before taking the bus.
Excellent stopping place for visiting San Gimignano. The parking spaces are completely sunny, but it is close to the bus stop and the bus ticket is included in the parking fee. Near a municipal swimming pool. Excellent price: €16 for 25 hours.
I believe the municipality should use the parking revenue from this motorhome area to improve it. It is not worthy of its location. Much less important municipalities have exceptional areas with all services. The municipality should reinvest the revenue in improvements so it is not wasted.
Great for visiting San Gimignano. Price is €1 per hour. The bus goes directly from here to the city. In June, every 30 minutes. The bus ticket is included in the parking ticket. The bus currently leaves at 6 and 36 past the hour, as of June 2026.
The place is good for one or two nights. No services. Gravel surface. Bus stop directly next to it. It is supposed to cost €14; we will find out tomorrow.
Perfect place to park and visit San Gimignano. We went by bicycle and securely locked them just outside the city walls.
A good place to park a camper and practically the only one if you want to visit San Gimignano. A shuttle bus takes you to the town.
Perfect parking spot to visit San Gimignano. Bus stop on the corner of the lot takes you straight to Porta San Giovanni. Bus ticket is included in your parking ticket but be sure to get it “validated” in the other bus terminal (the one where you also pay your parking ticket). It’s the weird thing next to the ticket booth. Water and grey water dump available around the football pitch corner.
Congratulations to the municipality of San Gimignano and all the staff, including the bus and shuttle drivers. Clean, well-maintained area at a modest price.
A well-placed aire for visiting San Gimignano. We cycled to the town, making it easily accessible. We did not use any services. Very calm overnight stay.
Practical for visiting San Gimignano. Busy road. Bus stop directly at the parking exit. The service area for wastewater is near the football field, attached to the adjacent campsite.
Not attractive and very busy, but a good starting point for getting to San Gimignano, either on foot or by bus.
The payment machine is outside the area, right by the exit barrier.
Impeccable: €20 for two nights, and with the ticket you can take the bus for free to visit this magnificent town. However, I recommend walking there to enjoy the view. Grey-water and fresh-water services are 200 metres away, and the cassette toilet can be emptied at the campsite.
We spent one night here and used the shuttle. We paid €14 in total for a somewhat sloping pitch and the ride. The payment machine did not work at first, but we were quickly helped via the SOS button.
We used the place only as a safe parking area for about four hours at €1 per hour. It was absolutely fine for that. A very good option for exploring San Gimignano from here. Also suitable for an overnight stay if you can do without comfort. Overall recommended for a short stay.
There are no services. However, it costs only €11 for 24 hours, and San Gimignano can be reached with a 30-minute walk. We slept very well.
Great place and starting point for lovely hikes.
We spent one night in the van for €11. There are no services, but it is a peaceful place without nighttime noise. You can take the bus 50 metres from the parking area, and the ticket can be loaded onto the parking ticket.
Everything has been said except how to buy the bus ticket, which is incomprehensible. How to buy a ticket remains a mystery despite local assistance.
Cheap and quiet parking area, very convenient for reaching the centre of San Gimignano with the SG1 shuttle, including for people with mobility difficulties. It is practical to buy the bus ticket on site. Free grey-water disposal and fresh-water filling are 100 metres away, but chemical-toilet disposal is only possible at the campsite, which is closed out of season from October to March.
Staying here today. Good spot for visiting the beautiful town. 30 minutes walk to the city gates, with outstanding Toscany views. Sidewalk all the way. Close to the road, but it does not bother us.
I confirm that the parking area is convenient and quiet. There are two areas where you can park; the lower one is practically level and does not require levelling blocks. Very convenient for San Gimignano, 15 minutes away on foot via a lovely walk through the countryside. Also suitable for a stroller, as there is a pavement all the way to the city gates, except at the roundabout.
Nice, convenient parking area for visiting San Gimignano, with the bus right in front. No services, but grey-water disposal is 200 metres away. Black water must be emptied at the campsite, which is currently closed. Many people empty their toilet into the grey-water drain. Too bad many people park carelessly and take up more space than necessary.
Perfect stopping area for visiting San Gimignano. It is not very close on foot, but there are two shuttles; you can validate the parking ticket near the automatic payment machines. They pass beside the parking area from morning until around 8 p.m. No services available. Fairly quiet, except for some late-afternoon noise because the village stadium is nearby.
Simple and basic, with no services. Not particularly well maintained. A few hundred metres away there is a free service point. Still an excellent solution for sleeping peacefully away from a parking lot. The bus passes every hour and reaches the centre of San Gimignano in a few minutes. Fair price. Recommended.
Very convenient parking area for visiting San Gimignano, with a bus in front of the parking area. No services; approximately 2 km or a 30-minute walk.
Dirt parking for €11/24 hours. Right next to it there is a water-filling and gray-water dumping area. A bus stop right at the entrance takes you to the town center. Very beautiful town, well worth visiting. We slept there with five other motorhomes.
Convenient for reaching San Gimignano by bus; the stop is in front of the area. No services, quiet night, payment by debit card is possible.
Many thanks. San Gimignano, Province of Siena, Italy. Santa Lucia: €11 for 24 hours and €8 for the remaining days; free water dumping and filling at the campsite next door. Free bus with the parking ticket, taking you to San Gimignano.
Nice and flat; felt safe; easy to locate. You get a ticket on the way in. If you plan to use the bus, scan the same ticket under the number of bus users to add the bus cost to your parking. Before exit pay for parking plus bus if youve used it. One tip…if your ticket wont go in the barrier slot on exit, pull up a bit closer! San Gimignano is fabulous and well worth a visit.
Really great place to visit San Gimignano. The site is quiet, and in 30 minutes on foot or after a short bus ride, with the stop directly in front of the site, you are in the beautiful city. A wastewater disposal point and fresh water are just around the corner and free to use. You can empty your chemical toilet at the campsite, also free of charge.
Quiet place at a reasonable price. The parking ticket is also valid for the bus to San Gimignano, so you don't have to walk all the way along the main road. Bins available; disposal is a little farther away.
Outstanding value for money. We parked here for almost three hours and paid only €3, and the bus ticket for three people to San Gimignano and back was already included! The bus stop is right at the site. We had previously tried directly in and around San Gimignano, where there was no chance of finding a parking space for our 7.4-meter motorhome.
The bins are often overflowing. Disposal is nearby at the campsite, inexpensive and safe, and San Gimignano is easy to reach by bus—recommended.
We rarely stop at paid car parks, but this one seems worth it. The price is low and the motorhome is safe. There is a free bus to the town, but I also recommend walking, because there is a beautiful panorama of the town for most of the way.
Perhaps to clarify, because I was asked about the bus ticket today: the hourly rate is one euro, with no increase. The parking ticket should be stamped at the booth (picture 1), depending on the number of passengers—self-explanatory. That settles it. It is a return ticket and is not deducted from the parking fee. It couldn't be better.
A great alternative to the campsite if you are self-sufficient. There are bins, but nothing else. Perfect for visiting San Gimignano. The ticket you take at the entrance is also a bus ticket, which is very practical.
Very good for visiting San Gimignano and not too expensive: €11 for 24 hours and €1 per additional hour. The bus is free with the parking ticket, which is great. However, there is no station for filling or dumping. The night is quiet.
Perfect for visiting San Gimignano for only €1 per hour. Little shade, and we walked to the city gate in 25 minutes.
Great parking area, quiet at night. Buses 1 and 2 go directly from the stadium or around the corner from the parking area to San Gimignano. The parking ticket can be used as a bus ticket: have it stamped beforehand at the ticket booth. Insert it into the ticket validator next to the machine, for example '2 people/€3'; the ticket receives a stamp, then show the stamped ticket on the bus for free travel. The €3 was not charged extra to our parking ticket (€11).
Simple parking area, everything is fine here.
Very bad parking area, sloping and with about 30 spaces. No services. It is shameful that there are no motorhome areas near San Gimignano. The only positive point is the free shuttle to the center. Otherwise: rejected!
No services, but very convenient for visiting San Gimignano, with a free shuttle every 30 minutes by showing the area ticket. Quiet night, ideal for large motorhomes.
Perfect for visiting San Gimignano! €1 per hour. We arrived at noon, ate, and took the bus at 1 p.m.; in five minutes you are in the city center, right by the pedestrian streets. Excellent! We returned by bus at 4 p.m. On August 25 there were plenty of spaces in the parking lot.
