Avenida dos Combatentes da Grande Guerra, 4930, Valença
Been here?
Large cobblestone parking area beside Valença fortress, quiet and convenient for visiting the walls and Puerta do Sol. There is shade, but few level spaces, and some areas are uneven. It has no services, and cleanliness can be an issue, although a municipal cleaning team visits early.

Very good place to visit the fortress. Just a few minutes from it. But we did not spend the night. Plenty of shade and very spacious, although level spots are scarce.Translating
Very good for visiting the upper town, very quiet at night, only woken by municipal workers cleaning up what tourists left behind, especially toilet paper... Out of respect, leave nothing behind, as this behavior eventually leads to bans.Translating
Excellent parking for visiting the walls.Translating
Level and paved. Perfect place at the foot of the fortress.Translating
We slept alone at the very end, in the last space. Super quiet, on foot from the walls, somewhat uneven but no problem.Translating
Great for visiting the town.Translating
(06-10-2025) Parking at the foot of the fortress (free for motorhomes in the last parking area). Easy access. Well-marked, paved, level and partially shaded spaces. Use the last parking area where the buses maneuver. We did not sleep there, but it appeared quiet. No services.Translating
Perfect for a 7.5 m motorhome. Ideal for visiting the beautiful fortress and citadel. We did not stay overnight because it felt too exposed. We chose a spot farther on by the river, but this seems good for overnight stays.Translating
Impressive site! The parking area is quiet and relatively level, with good mobile internet, directly beside the walls. Unfortunately, it is quite littered. There is a trash bin right at the site.Translating
Good parking, level and quiet at night. I give it 4 stars because there is no water.Translating
we parked here to visit the town, which is well worth the visit. Great parking with sun or shade, and plenty of space. did not stay overnight so can't comment. but looks OK.
Good place to spend the day and night. Please, if you poop outside, pick it up with a bag as you would with a dog. It is unbelievable to find human feces and toilet paper in all the campervan areas, and then we wonder why we are not welcome in some places.Translating
Good place to spend the night.Translating
Parking just below the fortress. We also spent the night and there was plenty of space; there were about three motorhomes. We arrived at dusk. In the morning it gradually filled with cars coming to see the shops and parking there.Translating
Level and shaded if you arrive early, a couple of minutes from the fortress. This parking area is free; the previous one is paid and barely any farther away.Translating
Easy-to-access location.Translating
We spent the night and it was very good. It is true that it is a little windy, but it is a quiet place. We slept very well.Translating
Good for spending one night, quiet for sleeping, silent, close to the Puerta del Sol. Free parking.Translating
For the first time I did not feel safe. Two men pretended to urinate while approaching my van and staring insistently. The town is well worth visiting, but for sleeping we drove about twenty kilometers south to the Parades de Coura area, with free electricity and a very calm atmosphere.Translating
We spent one night here and it was very quiet. There were two other motorhomes and everything was fine. In the morning we visited the fortress without any problems. Recommended.Translating
Perfect for parking and seeing the fortress. We saw a parking attendant, and on our return he was being greeted by the police. Everything is close by, but it is just a parking lot.Translating
Easy access, quiet, but motorhomes always park right next to you even when there are only four of us; two parked 10 meters away. Very unstable phone signal, impossible to make a call (Orange). Streetlight that makes sleeping difficult. No traffic. The town in the rain is very gloomy. Some shops are only open for tourists and expensive for the country. No services. It will do, but this country offers better.
Very quiet place, hardly any cars passing. Definitely recommended! :)
Very quiet, perfect for resting. It is very spacious, but if you come on a weekend, arrive early, as it is the usual bus parking area and there is quite a lot of traffic. Total silence at night. No services, but guaranteed rest, and the fortress with everything you need is only a few meters away. The area is also very well lit, so it feels very safe.
