Hot springs base, rough muddy access

Very nice location for the natural hot springs. 5 minutes walk to the main bath. and 5 more upriver to a grotto, a super hot waterfall and a 3 level bassin. We did not have too much problem getting to the site with our Ducato. but getting out was challenging on 2 wheels.

The good thing is the short walk to the thermal baths. Not a nice site. In wet weather, there is heavy, sticky mud.

I have no idea why this site does not have five stars. It is in nature, as described; it is an all-wheel-drive track, especially when wet, but that is also clearly stated. The walk to the springs takes five minutes. The route begins with a steep descent with some deep potholes. You can either go through the very narrow bridge or around it, which is very muddy. The rest is a walking path or extreme off-road driving.

The road is unsuitable for motorhomes; only off-road vehicles should attempt it. Farther on, after the municipal baths, there is an easy-access side road.

Nothing special and not completely quiet, but who wants to drive farther after visiting the thermal baths? The site is perfectly fine.

Good for visiting the hot spring. Possible without four-wheel drive, but certainly hard on the vehicle. The first part of the road is very steep and washed out.

Without a 4x4, a small van with some ground clearance can reach the parking area before the descent. The passage under the bridge is more than 2.6 meters wide, with no height problems, though it is more difficult when wet. Only the descent to the spring requires a 4x4 because technical driving is necessary. When we were there, two Toyota 4x4s were stuck. Driving those final meters to the natural spring is unreasonable anyway.

Access only for small cars. Steep descent and an extremely narrow passage under the railway tracks. Not suitable for motorhomes!

Muddy, uneven area near a noisy road bridge. The springs are worth visiting, but they are very crowded in the evening. The smaller pool in the valley becomes a men's swingers meeting in the dark. In the morning it was pleasantly quiet; I was alone for two hours at the rear pool in the valley. Sleep somewhere else and come here early to bathe. The path past the first spring to the second one in the valley is worthwhile.

Chaotic route but possible with a van, in our case a Ford Transit Custom. The parking area is dirty, with passing traffic and mud. Fine for one night; we were not disturbed. The police came by in the morning and there was no problem.

The parking area is stony and reached via a rough road, but it is better than the parking area on the other side of the river because you reach the pools directly without having to wade across the stream. The free thermal baths are fabulous.
