Countryside layby, persistent traffic noise

A slightly sloping layby surrounded by attractive countryside, with no amenities apart from a litter bin. It can provide a comfortable overnight stop, but traffic noise may continue until 12am and resume around 6am. Trees and bushes offer some privacy, although the road can be busy and occasional periods have been extremely noisy.

Comfortable enough for an overnight stop but gets noisy with traffic in the morning hence the four stars not five.A rubbish bin there.
Stayed overnight, quite noisy due to traffic until late ,12am, and started again at around 6am. Bin men came to empty bin but left it full. A few people parked up in the morning, all friendly and offered a morning wave and smile.
Lovely peaceful Saturday overnight stop. Slight road noise from the occasional vehicle but muted by trees between lay-by and road. Lay-by was clean and no mess/rubbish left on the roadside.
Maybe we got unlucky (jubilee weekend) but sounded like we were parked outside a rave - base going thump thump thump all night long, only getting worse the later it got. Gave up around midnight and moved on. Would not recommend.
Beautiful area but not a great spot for a relaxed stop over. Essentially a layby on a busy B road. Nowhere to sit outside the van, nowhere to walk the dog and cars passing every few seconds. Maybe a good solution for large motor homes in winter but I drove on.
Amazing stopover. Really quiet lay-by yes bin was full and overloaded but we parked higher up in the lay-by and it was so quiet. Slept really well overnight. Grt recommendation
