Forest edge, limited space and turning

Fine for a quick stop. The road is not great as of 2026.

Avoid it; there is no space and it is often impossible to turn around with a 6 m van to go back.

Very quiet and wonderful for one night. Cars rarely pass by, and occasionally a friendly walker comes along. Excellent.

Very beautiful place. At first glance simple, almost bland, beside a road with lots of traffic. But once night falls, its true beauty is revealed. The sound of cars gives way to the gentle chirping of crickets. The stars merge with the fireflies—not one, not two, but hundreds, no, thousands of fireflies join this gentle forest spectacle, lulling our nights and dreams until early morning. As soon as daylight arrives, the morning dew embraces our still-sleeping bodies, and the incessant sound of cars reigns again in this haven of peace, making it an ordinary place once more. P.S.: Take the road after the restaurant on the left, then the track that descends, not the one that climbs.

Flat, quiet and wooded place beside a track connecting two hamlets. On a rainy evening at the end of March, only one walker passed by.

A passing-through location, as there is a house not far away. There are two possible access routes: one very difficult, with a 90-degree bend, a rough road and several manoeuvres over 7 km; and one easy to access beside the departmental road. Surrounded by forest, with sloping ground and no internet access. In my opinion, practical for one night.

Easy access. Not that quiet, as it is actually a well-used road/track used by locals. If you want somewhere quieter, for a van or car only, take the small road that climbs at the junction instead of descending along the track; there are a few much quieter spots there! We only saw them the next day while walking—what a shame.

Wide, fairly level lay-by along the dirt road in the forest, with a few vehicles passing but very peaceful. The road is very wide, and even large vehicles can pass and park comfortably. There are other lay-bys along the road, though they are smaller.

Impossible to park at the lakes—too many people. Here it is quiet and surrounded by nature! The road to get here is quite pleasant. Once over the pass, take the gravel track; no problem even for motorhomes. Almost flat. A walker told us that we were near the unmissable Sacra di San Michele monument. Magnificent! Do not miss it.

Access is via a small mountain road, and the last 300 metres are on a drivable track. No problem for us, arriving at night with a 7.40 m motorhome. The place is isolated and very quiet. One dog walker and two cars at 8:30 in the morning. Perfect spot for a peaceful night.

Several cars passed during the night and in the morning, but we still managed to sleep quite well. There is shade and a small view of the mountains.
