3 Carrer Mestre Pompeu Fabra, 08261, Cardona
Been here?
Free, quiet motorhome parking beside the sports facilities, with 9 designated spaces and free grey-water, black-water and drinking-water services. There is no electricity, and the water tap has recently been reported as awkward to use, although the water is potable. The centre of Cardona is about 5 minutes away on foot, with views toward the castle and access to the salt mountain. Sports activity can cause noise until 20:00, but nights are generally quiet; parking is limited to 48 hours.

A very convenient area for filling fresh water and emptying grey and black water, and also very close to the municipal swimming pool (€3.50). A great find!
Very quiet area next to the sports facilities, where there is a bar and municipal swimming pool, and a children's playground. The town centre is a five-minute walk away.
Very good place to park and spend the night. We were very comfortable and close to the town. A 10 out of 10 for the management of this car park in Cardona.
Flat gravel parking with a superb view of the castle. Free, easy-to-access and functional services. The car park is somewhat noisy until 8 p.m. because locals also use it, but very quiet at night. The salt mines 1 km away are well worth visiting; it is an incredible place, although unfortunately there was no explanation in French.
Parking with functional and clean services. It also has a glass container, but too few bins, which overflow well before the end of the weekend. Very close to everything, with an incredible view of the castle.
A pleasant place to stay. At the weekend, some young people like to disturb motorhome occupants' sleep at 2 a.m. by banging on the motorhomes. Otherwise, fairly good; the tap works well.
We had a very quiet and safe Tuesday night; the police even did a patrol in the evening. There was training on the football field, but afterwards everything was completely silent. View of the castle, and Cardona centre is a few minutes' walk away. Toilet and grey-water drainage available.
We spent this weekend visiting Cardona, its shopping street and squares. The views of the castle are impressive. The area is quiet at night. The only drawback is that the car park is shared with people attending football matches. Even so, thanks to the town council.
The thread on the water-filling tap is stripped and worn, so the hose cannot be screwed on. You have to press the button every 10 seconds; the tap has no shut-off valve and does not stay open. The water is potable, which is good.
A quiet night for visiting the old salt mine and the castle of the former Lords of Salt. Shops are within walking distance.
Very quiet during this winter period. We stayed two nights with two camper vans. Everything is available except electricity. Visiting the salt mine is highly recommended. Booking online is wise, as there are only two tours a day during this period. The guide was in Spanish, but the English leaflet or audio tour was fine.
A very well-prepared, comfortable area, with beautiful views and a charming village.
Area with water and emptying facilities. We spent a very peaceful night. The area is lit and shares the car park with the football field. Five minutes away are the salt mines, a fantastic children's playground, and a lift to the old town.
I spent two very peaceful nights here. There are no bins because of the door-to-door collection system, only a glass container; for me, that is a mistake. Small recycling bins would be better. Since you can stay only 48 hours and I will be walking for longer, I have moved down to La Coromina. Thanks to Cardona town council for this place! I will definitely return.
Area with all services free of charge and marked pitches. In a town with tourist attractions, including the castle, salt mine and old town. THANK YOU to the town council for this facility.
Very nice. Much closer to the town centre than it appears, plus there is a lift.
Quiet, free, and thanks to the municipality for making this facility available to us.
Motorhome area shared with a car park. At night, young people come to drink and make noise. Grey water cannot be emptied because the drain is blocked. I do not recommend it, although the town is very pretty.
Parking with water services. Next to the municipal pool and a walk from the centre and salt mines, so there is no need to move. Shade, but not for the vehicles.
No shade. If you are travelling with children, be careful because there is a steep climb up to the town.
Quiet dirt car park with motorhome services near the sports field. Free, without electricity, and illuminated. Motorhomes are in the sun, with shade at the edges of the car park. Centre five minutes away; the Montaña de la Sal mine, very beautiful, is 1,000 metres away. There is also a large car park at the mine.
Excellent motorhome parking, super quiet, five minutes' walk from the town, incredible views of the castle, and 15 minutes' walk from the salt cave. It has all water-filling and emptying services. We loved Cardona.
Quiet, close to the town centre and castle, with free services. Thanks to the municipality.
Ideal for discovering Cardona's historic centre, the castle, which is next door, and the salt mountain, 1 km away. We stayed during Easter and it is a very quiet car park. On Sunday we counted five cars parked in the motorhome spaces and at the emptying area. Poor Parlem/Yoigo coverage. Plenty of trails for trail running and mountain biking.
Good location, peace and quiet, and free fresh-, grey- and black-water services. No electricity. Thanks to Cardona town council. Visit the salt mountain and castle. If you have children, the theatrical visits are recommended.
Do not hesitate to stop in Cardona. Beautiful parking spaces, respected by cars, and everything needed for filling and emptying. Shops nearby and plenty of pleasant little terraces. Many thanks to the town.
Shared space with all types of vehicles. There is quite a lot of movement because it is next to the football field. A small area is reserved for motorhomes. Good, convenient place for visiting the castle and salt mine.
Good area near the town, with a very beautiful castle and salt mines offering a beautiful and unusual visit for €12.50. The area has facilities for filling and emptying water, and although it is a shared car park, it is very good.
Filling and emptying services available. Very close to the town centre, castle and salt mines. Many thanks to the town council for providing this area.
15 March 2025. All services work correctly. You need to arrive early because it fills up very quickly. The area is close to the old town. Since it is next to the football field, until about 8 p.m. people train and make a little noise, nothing unbearable.
Thanks to the town administration. For motorhomes over 7 metres, use the new motorhome site.
A very good area near the town, and the bells are not bothersome.
Ideal area for visiting Cardona. For me, the only drawback is that the bells ring every 15 minutes; if you are a light sleeper, it is impossible to sleep. Otherwise it is good because of its proximity to the town. A bin should be added.
Very good area for spending the night and visiting Cardona, the castle and the salt mountain. The services work perfectly and the location near the centre is good. Very busy at weekends because the car park also serves the football field. The only negative thing is that there are no bins for rubbish.
