154 Lyle Road, PA16 7QT
Been here?
This off-road parking area on Lyle Hill offers exceptional views over Greenock and the surrounding water. The access road is steep, and the spaces are short, making parking longer vehicles difficult. Dog walkers use the area, while the nearby road and evening visitors can sometimes create considerable noise.

As previously mentioned parking is short if you park at right sngles to the pavement. We parked lengthways so no problem, no markings for "bays" so a bit if lateral thinking. Very noisy on a Thursday evening from "youngsters" coming up to eat their Domino's carry out, plsying music, football, tomtom drums, smoking skunk & general larking around. Bit of litter left, mainly psoer napkins. .
Lyle Hill offers a great view of Greenock and the water. Parking for long vehicles is difficult; with our approximately 5-meter van, it just fit. We stayed one night, but because the parking area is directly on the road and the viewpoint is popular with tourists and locals alike, it was not very quiet.
Steep drive to the top of the hill where the car park is situated. Unable to park because the spaces were too short for a campervan, and many locals want to park there.
Indeed, a superb view! A few benches for sitting and making picnics easier. A very peaceful place. The small parking area has no prohibition against staying overnight, so it should be possible.
