Barrys Road, Schull
Been here?
This harbour car park is a picturesque, flat overnight stop with views of fishing boats and a central village about 5 minutes away. Around 6 marked motorhome spaces are available, but fishermen need the pier clear and access there is now restricted by barriers. Toilets are open from 8h30 to 21h, while showers cost €2 for 4 minutes and drinking water is available. Nights can be peaceful, but recent reports describe car drifting and excessive noise after midnight.

Very lovely spot at the harbor. We arrived at the end of the day and waited until a car left. Then we had a wonderful spot for the evening and night. The pier has since been closed with barriers.
Far too much noise—car drifting until after midnight—at this beautiful spot for six motorhomes or vans. Showers and toilets are available but open only from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Important! Motorhomes are parking along the pier itself. This is not helpful as the fishermen are struggling to manoeuvre their boats as it is right by the ramp. Barriers are being installed soon to prohibit unauthorised entry. But in the meantime, please avoid parking there. There are bays marked in the parking area itself, but when they are full, that's it. Thanks.
Officially there can be 8 motorhomes. But in mid-summer at least the reality is 4 or 5. If you arrive before 17:00 it’s worth waiting until the ferry from Cape Clear comes in. Some spaces are taken by the day trippers. But there are anyway lobster pots and boat trailers. Sadly the excellent ‘chipper’ L’Escale is gone.
Picturesque and flat, we had a peaceful night’s sleep. Showers and toilets are very clean, I think the man comes every day to attend to them. Cameron’s bakery a 5min walk for lovely pastries and coffee.
Good shower, 4 minutes for 2 euros (note that you can only insert two 1-euro coins). Toilet free. Beautiful view of the boats. It is greatly appreciated if you park in the parking lot, not on the pier itself. The pier is used by local fishermen.
Very convenient for emptying the toilet. Water available at the boat landing, from a tap on an old fountain. Pretty little harbor.
Lovely little fishing harbour. 6 spaces. Very quiet at night, and the sanitary block opens at 8:30 and closes at 21:00. Brilliant.
What a super harbour. Hot showers for €2 for 4 mins and nice and clean. Toilets open 0830 to 2030. Water now has a tap that you turn with hose adapter. Lovely views. Nice town with some good pubs. Officially parking for 6 but can squeeze in another 6 around the lobster pots. Parking for 3 more by the disused community centre. Don’t forget to leave a donation at the watersports centre opposite.
Uncomplicated parking area for up to 8 campers. The night was very quiet and we felt safe. Toilets were clean. A shower is also available. We left €10 in the sailing school’s mailbox, as we really appreciate it when parking areas are provided.
March 2026: of the 6 marked parking spaces, one is occupied by the diving/sailing school’s trailer and one by lobster pots. The sanitary facilities are as described and averagely clean. Two pubs in the village were open. In 1994 there were still 26! There is a footpath next to the site that is good for walking the dog. The glass containers are also used at night.
Excellent. Stayed the night short walk up to the town to pub shops and cafés. Toilets very clean. Locals friendly. Busy working Harbour. Thank you Schull Council for providing these facilities
19 July 25, nice place at the harbour for an overnight stay. Quiet, public toilets with shower available. Unfortunately, there was no clear sky for a visit to the planetarium.
beautiful place to stop for the night, toilets available for use up until late evening. area very busy and quite a bit of noise from racing cars and drunk people, but to be expected on a friday night. lovely walks around parking area
Great place to stop for the night. Great location. we took the last space at 3pm. so get here early if you want a space. almost flat, lots of low level noise, as you would expect for a Friday in August, but no problems. bins and toilets nearby.
Excellent for an overnight stop. Toilets with Showers (2 Euro per 4 minutes). Water on site. Super view of the harbour and a walk around the coast
Nice parking area at the harbour with toilet (open 8:30–20:30). Good walking opportunities and many places to eat. Mizen Head is quickly accessible. I spent 3 quiet nights.
Free parking space provided by the Schull Council. Yet, very busy due to a lot of walkers and kids playing around on the pier. Also free toilets provided from 08.30 am -08.30 pm which aren't the cleanest. Also a paid shower cabin is available. Great if you spend one night, just a short walk to the local pubs and restaurants. Several bins provided and also a recycling station.
A super place to stay. It was full when I arrived and a council worker guided me back so I was parked at the side of the ladies. Very handy. Obviously busy with walkers during the day. I spent two days/nights didn’t have an issue. Thank you Schull Council.
Superb view of the harbour. It is free and has room for about 5 campers, in a quiet location. The toilets are closed from 20:30 to 8:30 and are cleaned in the evening. Great restaurants nearby.
