Skólabraut, Raufarhöfn
Been here?
A small, wind-protected campsite with electric hook-up, clean toilets and one shower. It costs 4800 ISK for 2 people excluding electricity, and accepts the CampingCard. There is no kitchen or dining room, and the site can become crowded. A mound protects it from the wind, but blocks the ocean view; a swimming pool and picnic tables are nearby.

Lovely little campsite, protected from the wind. There is electric hook up. Clean toilets and one shower, which was plenty for us as we were the only campers on the night we stayed. The loveliest lady comes in the evening to collect payment and has a chat.
I stayed outside the fortress, which is also part of the site. Slept very well. You can pay by email with a camping card, or a nice couple comes by in the evening to collect payment.Translating
Narrow grounds sheltered from the wind by dunes, which unfortunately block the view of the ocean. The small indoor pool next door is not pleasant at all, unlike most pools in the country. Clean sanitary facilities but no kitchen or dining room, so the price is too high. The village is ordinary, but Route 870 to the north is magnificent. Worth exploring!Translating
Everything has already been said below: everything is available, works, and is clean. A friendly team comes to collect payment and chat. Tip: the water hose is too short because the wall prevents you from driving right up to it. Another tip: the hard-working cod-tongue pickers at the fish factory opposite are happy to receive visitors.Translating
Accepts the CampingCard. Can get crowded (especially at weekends); relaxed atmosphere between Icelandic families during the summer holidays. In the evening a friendly couple came for payment, they also came back in the morning. Sanitary facilities functional and clean. Disposal outside the grassy hill easily accessible. Perfect 5G mobile phone reception.
4,800 ISK for two people, excluding electricity. Online payment is very easy. Sheltered from the wind. Ideal for a motorhome. Showers included.Translating
The grass was too wet to drive on. Parking spaces outside the wall do offer a beautiful view of the bird-rich lake. The nicest owners we have encountered so far. Sanitary facilities okay.Translating
Small, functional campsite, clean sanitary facilities, hot shower, no common room with kitchen, therefore less suitable for tents. Open from 15 May 2025; payment online or at the Nest Guesthouse reception. Camping card accepted.Translating
Well sheltered from the wind. Extremely small site that is massively overcrowded. Full of campers, door to door.Translating
Three caravans, some cars... a family group occupying this sad square surrounded by an embankment. We did not seem welcome. So we continued to Kopasker along the 50 km track.Translating
1,800 per person plus 1,000 tax. For the windy location, despite the sheltering wall, and cold water in the kitchen area, with everything outdoors, it is too expensive.Translating
