Unnamed Road, 05260, Champoléon
Been here?
A mountain parking area beside a river, with stunning views and a peaceful overnight setting. The access road is narrow in places, and the site can be inaccessible when avalanche risk closes the road. The main parking is sloping, while the lower riverside area is less suitable for vans; it is quiet at night but busy from around 7h in summer with hikers.

The last few kilometers to get there are narrow, but there are places to pass; if you take it patiently, you can get there fine. The main parking area is on a slope, so leveling blocks are needed for sleeping, and the descent to the somewhat wider, flatter area beside the stream is not recommended for large vans and motorhomes. There are enough flat spots beside the road; we slept there.Translating
Avalanche risk. Road closed at least for winter 2025.Translating
For a van or campervan, as the ground is indeed rutted. Sloping except for a few spaces. End of the narrow access road. Quiet in the evening and at night. From 7 a.m. in summer, the first hikers arrive to set off. Cool in the evening when the sun goes behind the mountain.Translating
