City parking, considerable noise

We are here now. All spaces are empty. No wonder at this price. We have been here before, when it was still free. The campers seemed happy, even though it was really full. We left a lot of money here back then. The town did not understand. We are moving on.

When we first came here three years ago, the site was still free. It now costs €18, which is far too much for what is offered. It was also very noisy at night, as the site is apparently used as a transit route to the adjacent nightclubs.

An absolute rip-off. The parking lot was always free before (and still is for cars); now the daily ticket for motorhomes is €18. We wonder what for. Completely incomprehensible and a sign of the growing antipathy toward motorhome travelers in the Harz district.

The location is absolutely excellent for visiting the city. We did not sleep here and were completely alone during the autumn holidays. All car spaces were occupied, while the motorhome spaces were free. The only criticism: the machine accepts coins only. You cannot pay for parking via the app. Alternatively, you can get a ticket from the tourist information office, but then you have to walk back 10 minutes.

Terrible place. They knocked on the vehicle, stole the water tank cap, and loud music is played in the evening. Motorhome users are also discriminated against, since the parking is free for cars. No disposal facilities or fresh water.

Less than 100 meters away, just walk around the block, and from 9 a.m. you can get coffee and rolls, except on Sundays. I walked through half the city with the dog in the morning and discovered the shop at the end. There is no shade at the site. Very busy at weekends, in the city center near the cathedral square.

Still free because the machine is still out of order. When the designated motorhome row is full—and it almost always is—you have to use car spaces. But then you risk getting a ticket or worse. I also found it very noisy and cramped.

We had a great overnight stay here. All the motorhome spaces were occupied, so we used a regular space. The payment machine is currently out of order (“Außer Betrieb. Parkscheibe”), so we could stay overnight for free. Parking costs are: 4 hours €6; day ticket €18.

Super central, ideal for a walk through the wonderful HBS. A little noisy because of cars parking, the lot fills up in the morning, and there are church bells. If that does not bother you—excellent.

We spent one night here while passing through. Even though there were already 10 motorhomes on site, there was still plenty of space. Despite being in the middle of the city, it was a quiet and safe night. You can certainly explore Halberstadt’s old town from here. You would wish for something like this in every city. A great site right in the city center. Nevertheless, it is quiet, and the best part is the free electricity. The €2.50 overnight fee is more of a kind gesture than a real cost. Many thanks to the city.

Very nice site, centrally located. When we arrived, most of the spaces intended for motorhomes were occupied by cars. What surprised us—and was a first for us—was that a municipal enforcement officer issued tickets to the inconsiderate car drivers. Thanks for that! We felt welcome in Halberstadt.

Great, clean site in the city center. Fairly quiet at night, although we were woken at around 6:30 a.m. by a street sweeper. That shows the place is being looked after. The electricity post is still free; 700 W is sufficient. Unfortunately, the tourist information office was closed in the evening and morning.

Free motorhome site, with four 700 W CE sockets freely available. Thanks to the city! A €2.50 visitor fee is fair, especially since you also receive a bonus booklet.

What a shame—cars parked in the motorhome spaces! Goodbye Halberstadt; I will spend my money elsewhere now!

Nice gravel site. Register at the tourist information office in town, about 500 m away. Electricity limited to 700 W, with four connections. Cost: €2.50 tourist tax per person. You also receive a coupon booklet for many activities in the city. The city center is reachable on foot in 5 minutes. Mobile reception is unfortunately somewhat poor. Unfortunately, there are many inconsiderate drivers.

The site itself is perfect, right by the cathedral, yet quiet and free! The only challenge is the approach, which requires some courage: it is a very narrow residential traffic-calmed street.

Right next to the cathedral, 5 minutes from the tourist information office, where you pay the €2.50 visitor fee. In return, you can use public transport for free and receive a coupon booklet. Many thanks to the city for providing such a site and service.
