Duke's Pass, FK8 3SY
Been here?
This spacious wild spot on Duke’s Pass offers clear mountain views and enough room for around 5 vans. It is mostly flat, though a levelling block may be needed, and recent visitors found it quiet overnight with reasonably good 4G reception. Midges can be numerous, while the exposed position provides some relief from them; no parking charges were indicated.

We stayed here for one night. It is a spacious place where the motorhome can be leveled with a block. It was very quiet at night. Beautiful view. Reasonably good 4G reception.
No signage indicated any parking charges, and a quick online search backed that up—seems to be a free spot. There’s a fantastic space at the rear with stunning views, so it's worth arriving early to claim it. Midges were out in full force, but I was safe and comfortable inside my van. I saw a few tents pitched on the grass who likely didn’t fare as well, spotted with full head nets! Great spot.
Lovely quite spot £7 a night via go park app
Great stay, fantastic views. A few other vans turned up to watch the sunset but no one else stayed over even though there was plenty of space. A bit of road noise but it all stopped as soon as it got dark.
Beautiful place somewhat away from the lightly trafficked road. The only nuisance was the midges.
Campfire remains, cigarette butts all over the ground, and to top it off, a swarm of flies and midges. We had to leave at 9 p.m. because it was so infested. Avoid.
