Free parking is available for 24 hours close to the town centre. Newer signs prohibit vehicles over 3t, camping and cooking, and say no sleeping. Recent stays were quiet, although earlier reports mention noise until 11pm.

The signage looks quite new. Nothing over 3 tonnes, which put me off straight away; it also says no camping or cooking, so another no from me. The same signs are around all the other car parks. I stayed in a lay-by just outside instead.Translating
Another night here, arrived at 10 pm, not a lot happened but its Wednesday, cycling the apples and ale cycle route 14 miles, town is lovely
Stayed last night, some noise untill 11pm then quiet, woke at 6.30 after an undisturbed sleep, I parked under the tree by the disabled parking opposite end to Wetherspoons, the carpark light wasn't working so fearly dark, some areas are like daylight from the lighting. Nice little park with pleanty of seating by the church. Toilets on the carpark but closed.
I work in the town centre and often park overnight here because the cost of fuel is not worth going home. I always park near the cinema end, as Wetherspoons at the other end can get a bit noisy. I have seen a few others camping here.Translating
