Camí de la Fanguera del Merdoset, 17486, Castelló d'Empúries
Been here?
This is a dog-friendly campsite near the beach and between Roses and Empuriabrava, with shaded pitches, a pool, dog pool, restaurant, bar, and daily activities. It is clean and well arranged, although it becomes very full in high season and sanitary facilities can deteriorate during the day. A recent stay cost 50€ for one night in a tent on a small pitch without electricity. Mosquitoes can be present, and the campsite is closed in winter.

Great campsite, ideal for bringing your dog. Clean, well laid out, with pitches featuring a terrace and pool. Activities every day. Well located between Roses and Empuriabrava.Translating
Campsite is fine, with great showers and sanitary facilities, etc., but a little expensive: €50 for one night in a tent on a small pitch, with very hard ground for pegging, and no electricity. Quite a lot of mosquitoes at this time of year.Translating
This place is really great for dogs. Pool, dog beach, dog ice cream and snacks. The site is relatively small and unfortunately very crowded during the season. The wash blocks seem to be cleaned only in the morning and look awful after a few hours because of the number of people! Many pitches are also close to the entertainment, which is very loud for a long time at weekends. Small supermarket available.Translating
For a three-star site, it is worth a full five stars. Beautifully set in nature and quietly located. The showers, toilets, pool and entertainment were good. A straight, direct route to the beach, which is clean and beautiful.Translating
Even without pets, this campsite is pleasant, with beach access and a family atmosphere. Well located in the nature park. The pitches are shaded, the staff welcoming, and the facilities perfectly adequate. The only drawback is the mosquitoes, so bring candles, repellent, etc.Translating
Staff are lovely, site wasn’t quite finished when we arrived; supermarket wasn’t open yet and workmen were fixing things, not all pitches set up and dog pool was empty, so I feel like we paid for 70% of the experience. Otherwise nice area and dog friendly beach nearby. Food in the restaurant was nice and not too dear. If you order the prawn skewer with fries though, it doesn’t come with fries.
Beautiful site, close to the beach and town, with everything you need! Very friendly staff. Pitches are large enough and sanitary facilities clean.Translating
Excellent campsite with well-defined pitches; everyone has their own space. Close to several kilometres of beach. We were looking for a dog-friendly campsite and were delighted! Everyone takes their dog everywhere; there is a pool and an enclosure where they can run around.Translating
Very good campsite, the pitches are excellent. The showers and toilets are very clean. French is spoken. I recommend it!Translating
An absolutely fantastic campsite! Dogs are genuinely welcome here—even with their own dog pool. Excellent pitches, always-clean sanitary facilities, a great restaurant with delicious food, and a cosy bar. We immediately felt at home—highly recommended!Translating
One of the best campsites I have stayed at. We like everything: the pitches are spacious, the bathrooms are new, there is a dog pool and agility area, activities for children, evening entertainment for adults and children, and friendly entertainers. Close to the beach.Translating
Friendly staff who speak French, but far too expensive. The access lane is very narrow for motorhomes, and above all this is a dog campsite, so dogs bark all day! Horrible—we will never return. More than €200 for six nights. Sanitary facilities clean in the morning but not cleaned in the evening, and the pitches are indeed full of biting ants; treatment is needed!Translating
Good for a one night stop but only if there is no other alternative available. The pros: close to the beach and with swimming pool. The cons: it takes ages to do the check-in and check-out. Very narrow corridors to manouver to enter/exit the parcel. Our parcel was full with ants, some maintenance would be desirable.
I expected the campsite to be busy and in June it was! We like the relative isolation away from bars etc but it is only a 15 minute bike ride away from Empuriabrava. The beach is 200m away. If you don't like dogs then don't come here! Practically every plot has one. We've a 7.1m van and it's not too difficult to park it. 14 nights in June for 2 people and van worked out at 32 euros a night.
They do not understand us in Catalan; you have to speak French. Otherwise, it is average.Translating
Too chaotic; it is worse than a holiday village.Translating
Excellent welcome, and they speak French very well. The showers, toilets and sinks are clean and modern. Direct access to the beach in five minutes from the campsite. Very pleasant stay.Translating
The pitches are okay; there are some quite small and cramped ones as well as several large ones. The sanitary facilities were clean. Unfortunately, the circuit breaker often tripped just from using the kettle, even in the low season. The restaurant drink prices are okay, but the pizzas are absolutely terrible! The dog pool is dangerous because of the “stairs,” which could cause injuries.Translating
Nice campsite, excellent welcome, great pool. They cannot control the wind. Anyway, I have to go—there is a rock evening...Translating
Campsite with quick access to a fine sandy beach. Clean and quiet in early September.Translating
Great Campsite Lovely clean Toilets beware book in advance or chance it very busy in September.
Disappointing. An hour's walk from the city centre via the beach, with cars brushing past you... You end up covered in sand. There is no lighting to guide you to the campsite when returning from town in the evening. Disappointing pool, paid sun loungers. Avoid the pizza restaurant; it is... terrible. Otherwise, the pitch is okay and waste disposal is possible. I will not return; too expensive: €135 for two nights.Translating
Great location. Otherwise rather sobering. We were already here last year and nothing has improved since then. The sanitary facilities are still inadequate, and because of the many young people it is not really suitable for those seeking peace and quiet.Translating
Beautiful shady pitches with fixed awnings. The sanitary facilities were not always clean, but that was due to youth groups constantly occupying and blocking the bathrooms and toilets. The dog beach is a long walk away, although it was not overcrowded. Small dog pool available. Beautiful pool with restaurant and plenty of entertainment for children and adults. The site has everything you need.Translating
Not for people who want peace and quiet: dirty sanitary facilities, a washing area full of teenagers playing music, toilet paper ran out everywhere, the dog beach is another kilometre away in the blazing heat, the restaurant serves poor food with unfriendly staff, loud music until late... and expensive!
Good concept for families, with many shady pitches offering reasonable privacy. Sanitary facilities usually dirty, left that way by teenagers; many children and teenagers on site. The adults' pool is unusable because children constantly disrupt things and jump in front of you. The beach is reasonably close, but it is too noisy at night: concerts, loud music and fireworks. Ideal for families with children, not for those seeking peace and quiet.
Beautiful place, with super-friendly campsite staff and management. Very clean and excellent for children and pets. Our furry friends have a play area, a running field, a small pool, and a beach about 700 metres away. We will return.
The only slightly negative thing is that the pitches and roads are a little small for maneuvering a large motorhome, but the campsite is spectacular, clean, well maintained and orderly. Very family-oriented and very French :). The workers are super friendly. The pet-friendly beach is a little over 1 km from the campsite. We will return.
A disgrace—the dog pool.
Ideal weekend in a motorhome with our four-legged companion, and also with my two teenagers. The pitches have a pergola and electricity. Good atmosphere and warm welcome. Price: €33 per night from Saturday to Sunday. I will come back!
Really top campsite; we spent two nights there. Private access to the beach next door, pool and entertainment, and the campsite restaurant is excellent with affordable prices. Above all, do not forget mosquito repellent!!!! We were eaten alive in two minutes while setting up.
Nice campsite in the middle of a nature reserve and close to the beach. It is also easy to walk into town for a supermarket or a meal. The campsite is great for dogs! Do bring mosquito repellent, as there are many of them.
