Buckhurst Campsite

Electricity costs £5 per night. We had to pay £27.50 for one night including electricity, for two people. Otherwise, it is not a cosy or landscaped campsite, just a large grass field. The campsite is now closed for the season.

The site itself is clean and quiet. Showers and toilets are not luxurious but absolutely fine. No grey-water drain. For black water there is no funnel or splash guard, and given the high fill level… well. For two people and a 6 m campervan, £22. Not suitable for a longer stay, but perfectly okay for one or two nights.

Very clean and quiet site in nature. Simple, but with clean toilets and showers. Washing dishes is also possible.

Too few toilets for visitors: 2 men's toilets for 300 men, and the same proportion for women. The first toilet block is up to 600 metres away; many people drove through the meadow. The grass was mown but not cleared, so it got everywhere. The passage to meadow 2 is 2.4 metres wide, with deep ruts and, after rain, one mud pool. You cannot get through with a camper without being towed.

A very nice big place. the sanitary facilities were sufficient and clean
