Sommerrainstraße, 70374, Stuttgart
Been here?
This is a tree-surrounded P+R parking area near Sommerrain S-Bahn station, offering good public transport into Stuttgart and to the Wasen. Recent visitors found the approach difficult, the camper section unkempt and the location unsafe, while earlier stays reported quiet nights. Overnight stays have also been stopped by police. A bakery is two blocks away.

At first, getting there was difficult. We had to drive through streets that are actually residents-only to reach the place. I found it very poorly maintained and did not feel safe there. So we drove on. A few minutes farther on there is a video-monitored parking area. It charges a fee, but is the better choice.Translating
We spent two peaceful nights here. Good connection to Stuttgart. However, the side where campers can park is very dirty. There are rubbish bins at the bridge. Dear campers, keep the place clean.Translating
Great parking area for getting into Stuttgart. Ten minutes by suburban train. Knocking on the camper at night was annoying, but it was probably because of the Wasen festival! Parking farther up makes sense.Translating
Perfect for visiting Cannstatter Wasen, with two suburban train stops to Cannstatt main station. I slept peacefully and undisturbed.Translating
At around 8 a.m. the police asked us to leave because it is not a campsite (we only slept in the motorhome and did not put out chairs or anything else). The police banged on the motorhome several times. Another motorhome also had to leave. We were not there for even 12 hours.Translating
Directly at the Sommerrain suburban train stop and therefore ideally connected. The tracks run lower down, so the train noise is not disturbing. We stood quietly in the shade. Since it is a normal car park, at 6.40 metres long we only just fit. It is a 10-minute walk to the U1; on the way, on Tannenbergstrasse, there is a vending machine at Steinle Garden Centre with vegetables, fruit, etc.Translating
Very quiet place at the weekend. Train traffic could not be heard. Instead of going to the suburban train, you can also walk to the Beskidenstrasse U1 stop, where there is also a bakery open on Sundays. The car park was lit until 2 a.m.Translating
I have stayed here several times; the connection to the city is excellent. It is relatively quiet at night, although you can hear trains and cars coming and going until after midnight. Nothing serious; I slept well. Friday evening is sometimes louder. Moderately clean. The parking area was never really full.Translating
Great place for exploring Stuttgart and the surrounding area. Stayed here for 2 nights and it was fairly quiet. Directly into the city by S2 or S3.Translating
Regarding the low-emission zone: this is a park-and-ride car park, and older diesels are also allowed to drive there under an exemption! :-)Translating
