1 Schafbachmühle, 53937, Schleiden
Been here?
A secluded nature campsite with comfortable pitches arranged in small groups among woodland clearings, beside a stream and ponds. It is peaceful and well suited to walking, families, and nature lovers, but provisions should be brought because it is remote. Sanitary facilities are dated but recently described as clean and maintained. Some recent stays reported very warm, sunny pitches and an unfriendly welcome.

What a great location! But when we arrived, we immediately concluded that the owners are extremely unfriendly! We were assigned a spot in full sun (35 degrees) even though we asked for a shady place because of the dog, despite the entire campsite being almost empty! This is outrageous.Translating
Pure nature and tranquility on comfortable pitches. Bring enough food, as it is very remote. Ideal for hikers and nature lovers. The sanitary facilities are dated, but clean and well maintained. Also suitable for families with children; there are great play areas and a small bathing pond about 1 m deep. We always enjoy coming here.Translating
Remote and peaceful, with nature, birdsong, and a little stream. Ideal for anyone who enjoys hiking. A very clever concept: you stay in small groups, partly in clearings in the woods, so you do not feel like you are at a large campsite at all. Previous comments are incomprehensible. We would happily come back. It was lovely.Translating
We stayed here for two nights. Nature is indeed beautiful, but that is about all. It was the most German place I have ever seen. You do not really feel comfortable. Countless prohibition signs, private-road signs, and so on. The sanitary facilities are ancient but clean. What is really awful is that there are not even toilet seats; you sit directly on the porcelain—disgusting! Simply too expensive for what it offers. Not again for me.Translating
A wonderful place to relax the soul in nature, in the forest, with great air, birdsong, and a stream with two ponds. There is mold in the shower area; the toilets are very clean but tiny. The operators should become friendlier so that people want to return. The electricity meter reading was not communicated; I was astonished to find that I had used 26 kWh in four days.Translating
Honestly unpleasant welcome. It was impossible to stay for just one night; a minimum of two nights was required. Although Germany requires us to stop at a campsite, we had to leave and look for another place, even though this campsite was almost empty during the week in low season. A shame, as the place was lovely, but I do not recommend it.Translating
Rather idyllic and somewhat remote, but the welcome was unfriendly (possibly because we arrived 15 minutes before closing time). They only allocate pitches for stays of at least two nights—more suitable for 'park4twonights'. Based on this first impression, not recommended.Translating
