Quai Monge, 49100, Angers
Been here?
Large free parking beside the Maine River within walking distance of Angers city center and cathedral. Excellent for motorhomes up to 7m with abundant shade from plane trees. Parking is often crowded, especially weekends. Position away from the expressway for a quieter night. Toilets available.

Huge free parking area with lots of shade. We parked a 7-meter motorhome without any problem. Cross the bridge and you are already at the cathedral steps.
Late Saturday afternoon, after 30 minutes of looking for a space, we parked on the Loire side. We spent a quiet night with no problems.
Many thanks to the city of Angers for this large free parking area. No services, but it is already a lot that they allow us to park and sleep there. Quiet and secure place, close to the entire city. Thanks again; we will return.
We tried to park there on Saturday afternoon. Very bad idea: once inside the parking lot, it was extremely difficult to move because there were so many cars. We managed to get out with difficulty without finding a space. We walked back to look at it around 11 p.m.; it was still full.
Ideal for parking, even for one or more nights. Not that noisy, depending on where you position yourself in the parking lot. Ideal for visiting the city, which is truly worth seeing.
Large parking area close to the center; just cross the Maine and you are there. Overnight parking is tolerated for motorhomes and vans. Quiet night with a view of the city. Very good for the Christmas market. I will certainly return.
Parking currently closed.
A very large free parking area with a beautiful view, but lots of activity: pedestrians and cars racing at night! Many sirens too. We stayed one night but are going to move elsewhere. This parking area deserves credit for existing; thank you, Angers.
Very large parking area. We spent the night there in a van. Clean toilets. Good spot.
City parking that fills up quickly, so there is little space for motorhomes. Some normal evening activity; a quiet night with no particular noise in the morning. Beautiful walk along the water. Visit to the modern tapestry museum. Small restaurant called Le Sourire, imaginative cuisine at a reasonable price.
Closed on 4.9.2025. Barriers all round and marquees being put up. Shame, looks super, it would have been ideal.
It is free and there is plenty of space for all types of vehicles. We went by motorhome in the middle of August and parked without problems. Cross the bridge and you are in the center. We spent one night there without problems. Recommended.
Great free parking area just a stone's throw from the castle and cathedral. We spent a very pleasant night there.
To my surprise, after just putting in the location, we got here! Lots of new roads and the city looks great. Satnav screwed around, sending us down a tramway! But there was the welcoming sight of a few campers parked up in the huge parking area at the end! Shady trees on both sides of the park and, the most welcome sight you could wish for - a French “pissoir”! No other facilities found.
We spent one night here from Friday to Saturday. The place is fairly quiet, completely free, and accessible to all types of vehicles, with no height limit. Very good for a short stay!
A quiet, peaceful night. Beware of the street sweeper passing very early in the morning; it is noisy. For information, the parking area will be closed on July 27 and 28, 2025, for the passage of the Tour de France Femmes.
Large parking area close to the old town, perfect for sightseeing. A minor drawback is that some homeless people come asking for money, but they are not aggressive at all. Overall, a quiet night; somewhat noisy in the morning, which is normal as people leave for work.
Large parking area with many cars during the school holidays, but we found a place next to another motorhome. Free, which is really appreciated for visiting the town. Just walk across the bridge and you are in the old town, with the market halls and the castle. Perfect!
Good place to visit the town, would’ve been a peaceful night had it not been for the tow truck who parked next to us at 5am with the engine running (why right next to us when the car park is half empty!)
This parking area was very useful for visiting the old town. We had a very peaceful night. Thank you, Angers.
