Parking area near Hotel Steingletscher used for overnight stays before hiking or ski touring to the Steingletscher and its lake. Payment (around 26 CHF, sometimes 5 CHF/4€ for the road/parking) is settled at the restaurant; off-season it may be free. No facilities on site, but a welcoming restaurant sits right next to the parking. Overnighting is tolerated by the owner if you ask first, and visitors are expected to buy something.

All parking spaces around this 180-degree bend, on both the left and right, belong to Hotel Steingletscher. Anyone parking here should also purchase something. The owner tolerates sleeping in a camper, but out of respect, arrange it with him. The CHF 5 mentioned in the comment below is the fee for driving on the road and parking toward the Umpol car park; it goes into the KWO collection box.Translating
