Mountain pasture views, narrow road

Great spot. If you leave from Menaggio, the roads are winding and somewhat steep, but with a cool head and attention it is manageable. We came up in a 9N3 Polo with 80 hp. We slept in a tent, very pleasant; in the early morning the cows came to say hello. If things go badly, two refuges are nearby! ;)

Incredible! We went there in a VW California-style van without any problems. You just need to be careful when passing other cars on the road, but otherwise no worries. We were almost completely alone: visits from the cows around 8 p.m. and again at 6 a.m. for an early wake-up. Watch out for scratches on the car! Magnificent view!

A spot in the great outdoors. The road is fairly accessible with a van, although somewhat narrow. Magnificent views to the east and west. We were alone for the night, apart from the cows.

Great place, and the possibility of standing on Monte Crocione in less than two hours, with an exceptional view.

Access with a VW bus is no problem, although it is narrow. A few locals drove past, but nobody complained. A few houses are very close by; it is surely busy in peak season. Unfortunately, there was quite a lot of toilet paper and rubbish. Bury your waste or take it with you. Otherwise, a really beautiful spot for one night or as a starting point for easy hikes.

Very adventurous street to get there, god forbid a car comes the other way. we made it, but unfortunately it was all fogged up. Locals passed, but only 3 cars in total, absolutely quiet at night. Please take your trash!!

Very little traffic, a place with a breathtaking view! At sunset and sunrise. Be careful, do not be afraid of the cows; they stand right next to the car in the morning.

Magnificent, I recommend it 100%. The view is spectacular and waking up with the cows is wonderful. Still, be careful if you have a large van; the road is winding.

Winding road, impossible for two vehicles to pass each other. I would not attempt it in a motorhome, but it was fine in a van. Magnificent spot. Lots of cows; you need earplugs for the bells! Beautiful hiking trail, with a 360° view of the lake from the parking area. You can also continue along the road to get closer to the trailhead and avoid the paved road. Go in the morning; lots of people.

It is a little difficult to get there because the road is somewhat narrow, but with a van it is perfect. Up there there is nothing apart from the refuge, but the views and waking up with the cows—literally—are priceless. We were alone. We had a wonderful time :)

Breathtaking magnificent view. We were woken by the cows at 5 a.m. Beware: vehicles weighing more than two tonnes or wider than 2.40 m cannot pass on the road.

Superb spot! Incredible panorama, free-roaming cows with bells (thanks for the 6:30 a.m. wake-up), which can block the road. But you have to earn it. Winding, possibly dangerous road. Vehicles over 2 tonnes are prohibited, which in itself means little; vehicle dimensions are what really matter. Motorhomes, forget it; vans, at your own risk and that of anyone you meet!

Very picturesque spot in the middle of the pastures, but we had to face off with cows to get there. The locals were also very friendly.

This peaceful, little-visited place offers a lovely natural panorama with a small pond surrounded by green hills. You encounter beautiful free-roaming cows, making the walk even more enjoyable in this calming setting.

Great quiet spot and a superb view.

Incredible place, unobstructed views in both directions; the 40-minute drive from the lake is absolutely worth it! Beware of the cows, as they have bells whose noise can be annoying, and they approach the car and unfortunately leave scratches. Otherwise, nobody in mid-June; only timber trucks travel up and down the road. Cars and vans are fine; I do not recommend it for motorhomes.

Lovely place with an incredible view west and east! Sunrise and sunset included. It is also the starting point for a beautiful hike. We were alone at the spot in early May. There was no traffic at night and very little in the evening!
