Large lakeside site, busy weekends

We received a hearty Franconian welcome from a real character at the entrance. You cannot—or need not—understand everything... Large site where everyone can find a spot, with or without electricity. The bathing peninsula is a dream. Full marks for the site! Deducting points for the parents who let their children run wild on the playground until 11 at night, and for the dog owners who let their pets bark endlessly at night.

Very nice camping area at Lake Brombach. Toilets and showers are available. Arriving on Monday is recommended; then you may be lucky enough to get a pitch with electricity. Great that you do not need coins. You get a camping card, top it up, and use it everywhere. At the end, your remaining balance is refunded. A wide range of leisure activities. Clean toilets.

I do not think the previous reviews are fair—the fact that I have to find my own pitch is fine; it is not a campsite. The showers are completely free at times, and so are the toilets. Everything is spotlessly clean. The signage could be better. The lady at the entrance is simply a character. The pitches are sufficiently large. All in all, excellent.

Large camping area, full at weekends. The motorhomes spread out. Unfortunately, there are no shopping facilities; the baker is sold out by 8:30. The best thing is the lake, a great size for SUP, swimming and more. We will be back.

Great camping area with plenty of peace and quiet and generous pitches, including for large motorhomes. Very clean and well maintained. Free fresh water available. Service and disposal facilities and a gas cylinder vending machine are available. Many leisure activities at the lake, a large playground, a dog playground and a very small dog beach. The lake is very close. A little dusty when dry, but we will definitely be back!

The site is very nicely located near the lake. Unfortunately, there is absolute chaos on the site. Everyone simply parks wherever they want and then sets up all their camping equipment. With a little more organization, more campers could fit.

We stayed here for two nights. Very nice, spacious site. Well maintained. Right by the water. With food service and live music, barbecue area and more. The only drawback is that many pitches have no electricity. We would gladly come back. Thank you.

Great site, simple payment system, electricity balance refunds, bread-roll service, drinks, sweets, food vending machines and a gas-cylinder vending machine. A tip: find a pitch and park first, then pay!!!!! It is a motorhome site offering so much. Thanks to the operators!

Perfectly fine during the week. Warning: processionary caterpillars in the trees. Looking up beforehand helps and can save a dog's life.

A huge camping area. The cashier at the entrance explained that up to 1,000 pitches could be available if needed. You pay at the entrance, cash only, and then choose your own place. Everyone parks as they like. Pure chaos. If a camping area advertises showers and toilets, offering six showers and six toilets for this many pitches means pure congestion. Never again.

Nicely located by the lake. However, we could not get a pitch with electricity, and the sanitary facilities were also far away.

The site is very confusing and disorganized. After paying in cash at the entrance, you have to search for a pitch yourself. Far too few showers and toilets for so many people, and depending on where you stand they can be very far away. Warning: departure is by 10 a.m.; otherwise there is a €5 surcharge. The lake and surroundings are very beautiful.

Lake Brombach is beautiful, but unfortunately this camping area is not. Hundreds of pitches packed closely together, cash payment at the entrance, followed by a search for a free pitch across the confusing grounds. Despite a long search, we found no pitch. The refund only came after a long, extremely cheeky and unfriendly argument. A real shame for the region and tourism.

Hundreds of motorhome pitches, but only 12 showers (€0.50 per minute) and around 12 toilets for 2,000 guests. The electricity stations are clearly not available to everyone; perhaps only 20–30% of guests can use them. For €18 a day, I could not use electricity and had to leave early because the batteries were almost empty. Tip: be sure to bring a solar panel.

I was surprised by how beautiful it is here. Everything is uncomplicated. You can go for lovely walks. One point deducted because it is not dog-friendly. There are prohibition signs everywhere, and there is so much bird droppings at the dog beach that you cannot stay there. A shame—it is a lovely place for dogs, just not maintained.

A natural, undeveloped motorhome site with roots, stones and so on. Sanitary facilities are fine. Very nice playground for children of all ages. Dog- and child-friendly.

Beautiful camping area with everything you need, whether you are completely self-sufficient or not. Especially nice for dog owners, as there is a small dog beach and, next to it, a separate dog playground with several obstacles. We all enjoyed it and will gladly come back.

Very large site. When we arrived, we chose a pitch and then paid the fee and the payment card at the machines. The card can then be used to activate electricity at the pitch. A great place for us, beautifully located and very clean. We would gladly come back.

Very inexpensive for this price and has everything you need. Highly recommended. You choose your own pitch and then pay. On departure, there is sometimes a check at the exit. Showers and fresh water are paid for using a card obtained and topped up at the machine.

The welcome was somewhat rough but definitely warm. Highly recommended for dog owners because of the designated beach section. We were a little late at departure, but out of goodwill we did not have to pay extra. We will gladly come back!

Actually great! It is like a campsite with a touch of anarchy. Nobody really seems to have an overview; you are let in after paying... There is also the option of getting a ticket at the machine after finding a pitch, but that is not desired. We spent four days on a meadow, completely squeezed in next to others. Nice enough, but does this really make sense regarding emergency access? Recognizing license plates at entry and exit might be enough to stop unlimited numbers of people entering. In return, you get a great playground, paid service and disposal facilities, showers and washing-up facilities. Everything is always clean. We are quite impressed.

You arrive, get charged, and are supposed to find a pitch yourself. Driving around annoys all the campers because nothing is free anymore. The operators should realize this when they say they have 1,000 motorhomes on the site! Several people behind us were also simply let in. Someone should really keep track of what is available.

Unfortunately, we had to drive on because everything was full over the Whitsun weekend. However, their website said that a free place was always available. There are supposedly always free places, but that is not the case.

We really liked it during our journey. It has everything you need.

We were there for one day and will come again. Very friendly reception, playground and lake ideal for children and dogs. The site is spacious. Clean toilets. Electricity works with a top-up card. There is a bread-roll service and 24-hour vending machines.

The site was nice and large, and the possibilities around it were excellent. Right by the water, dog-friendly and very pleasant. At weekends it was somewhat noisier into the night, which was not a problem for us.

Warm welcome, free choice of pitch, excellent service and disposal facilities. No marked pitches, which means some people spread out with all their belongings. The night was short because some fellow campers entertained the site with their music and bad singing until well after midnight. The site is very large and beautifully located by Lake Brombach. We would gladly return.

Very friendly welcome, sanitary buildings and site very clean. Great “beach.” Still very quiet at the beginning of April; we enjoyed it. Gladly again.

We stayed here for five nights, Wednesday to Sunday. The official motorhome area was closed, but there was a winter pitch on the meadow. Ten electricity posts were active, as well as a service and disposal point. Very quiet every night; on Friday evening there was nice music at the San-Shine Camp. Music in the canteen.

Hopelessly overcrowded in summer. In winter it is free, but the San Shine Camp fills the entire peninsula with monotonous thump-thump-thump music. I fled after 30 minutes.

Very nice camping area right by the lake. The site is also open in winter and costs €18 per night. Everything else, such as electricity, showers and fresh water, costs extra. From November to March, the Brombachsee winter huts, an outdoor event area, offer activities such as archery, live music and more.

A very nice camping area with good infrastructure. Very quiet at night and not busy during the day either. The enclosed dog beach is particularly nice, even with an agility course. There is also a small snack bar and a village shop about 2 km away. However, electricity costs €1 per kWh, not 50 cents, and only a quick showerer like me can manage with one euro.

Great camping area, nice sanitary facilities. Campfires with live music on Fridays and Sundays. We felt very comfortable. The leisure activities available from this site are varied. We will gladly come back.
