This shaded spot at the end of a dirt road offers a wonderful view of Matera beneath pine trees. It has space for only one or two vehicles, no larger than a VW bus or similar, and requires comfortable off-road driving. Visitors should take all rubbish away, as the area can become dirty, and insects may be troublesome.

Amazing view and quite a cool breeze when we were there. Fairly easy to get to if you’re comfortable driving off-road. Please take rubbish with you.
It would be a 5-star spot if it had stayed clean. Unfortunately, visitors have once again defecated right in the middle in a very short time, see photos. I have already cleared the first landmines. Don't be surprised if we become increasingly unpopular when people simply shit next to their vehicle and leave everything behind. Beautiful view of Matera. We spent a quiet night with a splendid sunrise over Matera. The approach is not easy; only suitable for smaller campers or 4x4s. Also perfect: there is a water fountain on the way here. It is already marked on the map.Translating
