This daytime parking place at the top of Mont Lachens offers a magnificent 360° panorama, impressive views, and splendid starry skies. There are many parking spaces, but no water or electricity, and strong wind is possible. Access is by a fairly rough dirt road from the northern side, and overnight stays have led to eviction by forest guards.

Incredible spot, as described in the other reviews! To get there, do not follow the GPS. You have to go via the north face of Lachens, so first go to these coordinates: 43°44'59"N 6°37'47"E The people in the comments who failed to get there tried to come via the south face, where there are only dirt tracks.
Exceptional spot, with a magnificent view for sunrise and sunset. The dirt road to get there is quite rough but passable. Nobody here at this time of year apart from a few paragliders during the day.
