151 Avenida Vasco Branco, 3800, Aveiro
Been here?
A large authorized pebble-surface car park opposite the bus station, with toilets there and the city centre accessible beneath the railway station. The road causes some daytime noise, while traffic is light at night. Recent reports describe abandoned or permanently occupied caravans, poor surfaces, and an unsafe atmosphere, so several travellers chose not to stay overnight.

The parking surface is very poor, although there is space. There are some very old caravans permanently parked there. There is also line parking nearby for long vehicles. Close to the center, passing under the train station.
Didn’t stay the night here, but it feels safer than the official site.
As the other side was full, we stayed here overnight. There may be resident motorhomes or it may look rough, but it is safe here.
There are obviously permanent residents here in the parking area. It does not look very safe.
There is no more space in the motorhome parking area. We wanted to settle here, but when we saw long-term caravans and motorhomes, the place did not inspire confidence, so we preferred to leave.
We arrived and the motorhome service area was full, so we decided to spend the night here. Some abandoned caravans and a couple where people live. Since there were other tourist motorhomes, we decided to stay; the night was quiet, and the next morning we went to the nearby service area to empty and fill up. It is not the best place in the world, but it was fine for one night.
We used this parking area to visit Aveiro, but it does not look safe for the night.
A place to avoid. Half-abandoned, dirty, and unreliable caravans. If the motorhome area is full, other car parks farther down are better.
Dangerous! It is full of caravans that look abandoned, but people live in them. It looks like a gypsy camp. Far too dangerous.
We couldn’t get in across the road so we stayed here with a lot of other campers. Absolutely no bother at all. Buses trains supermarkets and toilets all at your disposal
The parking area does not look very good, so we left. It is frightening to leave the caravan here.
It looked like a unofficial camp with caravans and did not feel safe. Moved on.
I tried… there are what seems to be people living in a van, and 2/3 caravans; it’s a mess & they are drunk!! I was eating some food and looked out to see him having a wee against someone’s motorhome, at this point I had to leave.
It is a dirt parking area and, based on previous comments, we were worried about sleeping there. But we decided to take the risk, and the night was peaceful. It is not dangerous.
We used this parking area during the day to visit Aveiro; it does not seem reliable for overnight stays.
Perfectly adequate for visiting the city if the parking area opposite is full. It is centrally located, so naturally traffic noise can be heard, but it is about a 15-minute walk to the beautiful, well-kept city. There are several good parking areas nearby. Thanks.
Despite the available space, I really did not feel confident leaving the motorhome in this car park. There are installations and caravans in a deplorable and very dirty condition. I was lucky to get a place in the official area next door, which was well surrounded.
A good option for parking while visiting the city if the motorhome site opposite is occupied. It will probably be too noisy for staying overnight.
A lot of traffic at night. We were woken at 6:30 a.m. by a man banging on the windows. Adequate for one night if there is no space at the official area next door.
A place to stop and visit Aveiro, near the motorhome area, which is usually full. About a 20-minute walk from the center.
Uneven dirt parking area, but useful when there are no spaces in the official motorhome area.
It is essential because the area is too small. The appearance is poor, with a lot of accumulated rubbish and several caravans with many belongings piled around them because they are permanent homes; it does not make a good impression. It needs basic maintenance. The night was quiet, although there is quite a lot of traffic.
Looks less pleasant than the one over the road, but had much more space because of it. Parked our motorhome here for four hours in the evening; all good.
It does not look good at all… I did not stay.
Great free stop over in this “overflow” when the official MH car park is full. Peaceful quiet night was had. Some cars use the area during the day but not an issue. We used the official area to dump and fill in the morning. The tow is lovely with a focus on the canal and its many bridges.
Quiet only during the middle hours of the night; there is a lot of car noise during the day. Otherwise acceptable.
The area was completely full and in high demand, so we came to this parking area, which does not give a good feeling. However, people live in an old motorhome and caravans; they do not bother anyone, and there is always someone around. The night was quiet.
