We parked here for three nights while visiting friends in Rome. We only slept in the van one night. It was quiet. The van was safe throughout, which was our main concern. It is not the nicest area and is quite expensive for just parking and a toilet, but it is fine and safe for visiting Rome.✦Translating

With our van we paid 15 EUR for 24 hours like a normal car, but then we were not allowed to stay/hang in the car and had to deliver in our keys while we were gone. Did not spend the night, and were able to pay with card when we left. ✦Translating

A good starting point for visiting Rome and one of the few camper areas outside the green zone (LEZ), still relatively close to the center. Open all year, with all motorhome services: electricity, water, gray- and black-water disposal. Fenced and monitored by video, with two toilets that are clean and above average. On arrival you receive a ticket and pay when leaving (€30 for 24 hours + €5 electricity, maximum 4A). They are very strict about time: if you exceed 24 hours, even by one minute, each additional hour costs €4. The fastest way to central Rome is bus 781, which runs to the center. You board at the starting stop, two minutes on foot from the parking area, and reach Piazza Venezia in 30 minutes; it is also the terminal stop. You can buy a ticket by credit card on the bus (€1.50, valid for 100 minutes; children under nine travel free). As we had no reservation, all electricity pitches were occupied during our visit on December 27. There was still some room in the car parking area, so they allowed us to move the motorhome into the sun and charge some batteries with our raised solar panels. Rome was packed during the New Year holidays, so tickets for paid attractions such as the Colosseum had to be bought online at least a day in advance.✦Translating

Allow one hour by public transport to the city center, but connections are good at the end of the street, next to a small supermarket. Beware of pickpockets in the city. I booked online for a van and it was €20; when I arrived, it was €30 because I was sleeping inside. I may have made a mistake when booking, but be careful if you do this. There is a grassy camper area set apart from the vehicle parking, but only if you pay for electricity. Otherwise, they put you in the middle of the parking area, a gravel wasteland with no alternative. The camper area was empty during the two days I stayed in the gravel area.✦Translating
