Unnamed road, 2404, Petronell-Carnuntum
Been here?
The Carnuntum Roman City Motorhome Site has 4 pitches in a quiet, partly hidden corner of a large parking area. The pitches are often uneven or sloped, so leveling blocks may be needed, and there are no services. Booking is made by QR code or online; the newest reported price is €14, while booking late may cost €5 extra. Showing the booking at the ticket office gives two people a discounted day ticket for €12.

I paid €14 through the new platform (Parkovernight, also accessible via the Carnuntum website). Leaving after 12:00 is not a problem, and this is not strictly checked, perhaps because it was quiet. The spaces are almost level, it is very quiet in the evening, and you are nicely secluded. In the morning we saw a few cyclists, joggers, and dogs, but otherwise it was a quiet area.
It is clean and shaded; however, bring leveling chocks because it is sloped, and book in advance because otherwise it costs €5 extra, which I find outrageous.
There are four spaces in a hidden corner of a large parking area (not well signposted). Payment is made by scanning a QR code. I paid €16.50 for one camper with two people. There are no services.
Quiet at the edge of the large parking area, which was otherwise completely empty. We spent a quiet night. Unfortunately, it is very sloped. It is unclear whether you should drive onto the grass or stay on the gravel. We stayed on the gravel and put the front wheels onto the grass; there is a dip here, which made us more level. The Roman town and the guided tour are very interesting!
