Camping du Rouge Gorge****

Campsite very close to the town center, 20 minutes on foot. The pitch is small in length but well shaded; in this hot weather it is perfect, quiet, with clean and fully equipped sanitary facilities. However, the prices are nothing like what is advertised. Two nights, pitch with electricity and a small dining tent: €89.90, which hurts, especially since we did not use the pool or jacuzzi.

Quiet place, welcoming staff, but somewhat disappointed by the sanitary facilities: few showers (3), and 2 toilets without seats in the men’s room plus a urinal. There are two unheated sanitary buildings; for a four-star campsite, not great. I would give it 2 stars, although it is true that there is a heated indoor pool and jacuzzi. The pitches are not great and poorly maintained.

We stopped for one night. The layout of the campsite is not very welcoming. The welcome booklet gives the impression of a cold place, although rules are necessary. The sanitary facilities are clean; the downside is that the toilets are next to the showers (smells). The staff are welcoming and the campsite is clean and quiet. Small meals are available on site or to take away.

The only campsite in the area allowing people to do the Velideale. Very busy road noise.

Tent pitch, car, 2 adults and 3 children: more than €50 per night. Expensive, but we found little to complain about. Ideal campsite when visiting Puy du Fou. Pitch a little small but perfectly adequate. Hot water, toilet paper, hairdryer, hand soap, clean sanitary facilities. Pool and jacuzzi. Many games for children, snacks available and bread can be ordered.
