A small, quiet gravel car park surrounded by the South Downs, reached by a narrow single-track country road. The entrance has a height restriction of around 2.1m, making it unsuitable for high-top vans and roof boxes. There are no services, and the uneven surface may require care. It is a good base for walking, with dog walkers and other visitors arriving in the morning.

A quiet little gravel carpark down a narrow, single track country road. We arrived about 9pm in our VW Transporter; another small van arrived an hour after us. There is a height restriction entry bar of around 2.1m. Walkers arrived early but no bother, a good find thanks to other feedback! No toilets so find some before you arrive :)
Great little chalk carpark at the centre of the Winston estate. Nice and quiet at night with some dog walkers turning up around 6:30am. Great place to start a walk with lots of routes. Carpark relatively flat near bottom right means didnt even need levelling chocks.
Really nice place to park surrounded by the South Downs. Was fairly quiet although another camper joined at around 11:30. Classic country road on the way to the car park, luckily wasn’t met with oncoming vehicles. Got a bit busy with dog walkers in the morning but wasn’t any bother.
Good parking area on the hiking trail network. Access is height-restricted to approximately 2.10 m. Good and quiet for overnight stays. No services, many hikers and mountain bikers. Very weak 4G.Translating
Pulled in here around 8pm on June 6th and had zero issues from then on. Couple of cars came and went, but nobody bothered me in the back corner. Rained all night and I slept well! Definitely low clearance, so I’d recommend this more as a car camping spot than anything else.

Lovely little car park, nice and quiet at night. They were a couple of dog walkers early hours in the morning, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has a high top van or roof box as they is a high restriction for the car park.
Absolutely crackin little spot, very quiet and dark. We slept very well. It is a bit of a track to get there with bumpy areas which you'd certainly notice in a lowered van but I drove steady, no bottoming out, in fact it wouldn't be overly noticeable in a stand suspension vehicle. Anyway, I loved the spot and I'll be back there again. We were in the car park along till the morning dog walks came.
Quite and nice. My VW transporter fit easily under the barrier.
I stayed here last night. The road is a bit lumpy bumpy but not horrible. Still a 2.1m barrier but perfect for me and my little van.
