22 Bairro do Telheiro, 7340, Arronches
Been here?
Quiet, free riverside parking near Arronches offers flat illuminated spaces, some late-afternoon shade and peaceful surroundings. Access is currently open, although flood-repair work continues. Electricity is available only at the first point, while water costs 2€ for 100 L. The area remains temporarily free, and the river, walks and village are nearby.

We spent a peaceful night here. We were the only ones. The entrances are open and there is electricity only at the first pitch, as already mentioned. It is currently free, but it seems temporary. The water-filling services are paid.
No access because of construction work. The service area is also completely blocked by building materials. Gone.
Excellent place, quiet beside this river where we swam with people from the village. The area is somewhat under construction, but it is not a problem. Currently, only the electrical hookup closest to the disposal area is working. Water costs €2 for 100 litres and works very well, although the tap moves a little. A little haven of peace in a typical, welcoming village.
The site is accessible and there is electricity at the first power post. It is wonderfully peaceful and you can fish there. We have visited several times and it meets the standards of beautiful Portugal.
Still under maintenance, temporarily unavailable.
Excellent stop, with beautiful walks.
A perfect place to stay for one or two days, currently still free of charge. However, a new barrier with a scanner has been installed, although it is not yet operating.
Despite the renovation work, we spent two very pleasant nights here!
They are still working on the Flood damages but other than that a great spot for a night or two. No Noise, just sheeps and Cats ☺️
Thank you to the town for this motorhome area. A very quiet night in a green setting beside the river.
If there where a possibility for more stars I would give it . So idyllic by the river , a lovely city to see and nice area to walk in . Electricity , water and emptying works . They are still doing some work after the flod, but it do not disturb. Thanks to the city and its nice people . We will be back
Very peaceful place with electricity and water for refilling. 100% recommended.
Despite the damage this place has clearly suffered with storms, the setting remains serene and if you come prepared (the services are out of order), you can spend some days relaxing. There is some work going on at the site fixing the river walkways, but they aren't overly disturbing. I imagine they don't work weekends so if you want total peace better to come then.
Lovely little village with a café by the church and friendly owners. Services currently out of order. Sheep and frogs. The town hall is carrying out work at the moment.
Nice and quiet motorhome site. Free electricity at the first post. The rest is currently not working because of previous floods; the site is being renovated. Due to the heavy rain, the river has risen enormously again. The barbecue areas have been underwater since last night. I actually wanted to stay longer, but the water keeps rising, so I am leaving today before the motorhome site is also underwater.
Water works. Electricity at the first pitch, two connections.
Area for five pitches. It is under construction and three can be used. Beautiful place. Access on the entrance street is a little difficult because cars park there, and I do not recommend it for an motorhome with a trailer or one measuring eight metres. It seems it will become paid; the barrier is raised as of this date.
Due to damage from the last two river floods, the place is not as pleasant as before. Wait for the municipality to finish the necessary work. At present, it is enough for emptying—the toilet-flushing facility works—and for a quiet overnight stay with another van.
Everything is closed; there is no water or electricity. It is an open-air construction site. Avoid it.
The aire is still under construction, rather like a building site at the moment. It is better to stop in town. The riverside footpath was washed away, so the site may flood; perhaps that is why construction has stopped. No water or electricity. Only four places available.
Area under construction, with work ongoing and due to open soon with a barrier. We went elsewhere. The swimming pool is recommended in summer and also in winter, when the indoor pool is open.
Service area under construction, with no water, electricity or disposal facilities. Good location beside the river.
Quiet place, away from the village but with trails and a barbecue area nearby. It has electricity, although we did not use it. They were finishing the work, but there was no noise. We spent a very peaceful night.
A place with potential but poorly managed. The streetlights illuminate the whole area all night, which is quite disturbing for sleeping. Many dogs also bark all night. There are many picnic tables with barbecues, but they contain wasp nests; each of us was stung. It is still under construction and does not have all the advertised services.
As of today, it is still under construction.
Currently under construction, with no electricity yet. Water costs €2. The only useful facilities are black- and grey-water disposal. Perhaps it will be a good area in the future. The access and exit are very steep.
Lovely little place. Very quiet night. But beware, on 15th May they were doing some kind of construction work to the aire, so there were fewer spaces available.
Pleasant area, spacious, level pitches. Thanks to the municipality.
Good location, overlooking the river. Needs improvement. Water costs €2.
Perfect place next to the Caia River. There could have been another spot by the river because at first the streets seemed narrow, although I think access is difficult for a heavy motorhome. Currently under renovation: new curbs and a barbecue area are being installed. Fishing is possible in the river, but the path downhill is closed due to a landslide. Non-potable water for emptying and washing the toilet. Potable water—WARNING! It only works with a €2 coin; it does not accept two €1 coins. The tap has a threaded connection and no easy attachment. The only occasional problem is that, due to the renovations, they left a weakened tree that moved in the wind. We did not park there and warned the other campers arriving.
Nice area, with lots of motorhome traffic, and only 5 spaces. Many thanks to the town council. All services except electricity.
