650 Chemin de Port Saint Pierre, 05160, Le Sauze-du-Lac
Been here?
This wild spot is on stony terraces above the lake, offering extraordinary views of the water and mountains, calm surroundings and a sunny, exposed position without shade. One terrace is accessible by van, while the others require a 4x4 or a high-clearance vehicle with good traction; maneuvering and turning require care. The track has a turnaround area below the terraces, and larger vehicles may find access difficult. A nearby road creates a little noise.

Very beautiful spot, quiet, level, with an incredible view of the lake and mountains. The track is suitable for any vehicle.
Beautiful view and quite an unusual spot. Some road noise. Regarding access: the track is in good condition, with a turning area below the spaces. Only one space is truly accessible for a van; with care, it is no problem. A short-wheelbase L1 can drive straight in, although reversing out is easier. For longer vehicles, turn around at the bottom first.
The best place on the entire lake. I feel sorry for the people who were able to enjoy absolute peace here before Park4Night was invented. Absolutely recommended, with manageable access. Drive slowly and arrive in daylight.
Stay on August 8, 2025. The previous spot was too popular, so we settled here. Beautiful view from the “terrace” space, but the lake is too far away. Be careful: you need good traction to leave directly; otherwise, drive a little farther down to a maneuvering area. No problem with the 4x4 Campeo.
Great spot, the view of the lake is incredible, with a beautiful sunset. However, access is mainly suitable for 4x4s. In an Ineos Grenadier, we passed without any problem, even to the second, slightly higher platform. Avoid windy or rainy days because it is very exposed. No shade, but fairly level, which is a plus. In a van or motorhome, I recommend the spot right next door, which is much more accessible and has a maneuvering area.
An extraordinary view and a quiet place. Access is not the easiest, but it is doable. We have a Ford Transit, but I would not attempt it with anything larger.
Fantastic spot. Accessible with a Ducato, but quite borderline, especially with a bike rack.
Beautiful parking spot, with an amazing view of the water and mountains. Fifteen minutes away is access to the water with a snack bar and lifeguards. You may want hiking boots for the path, as it is very rocky and partly steep. Simply beautiful here!
The underground surface is very difficult, but the view is epic, and it is not impossible to get there with a normal van. A 15-minute hike takes you to a beach with beautiful water. The road is nearby, but it is very quiet in the evening.
Incredible spot! Completely alone facing this magnificent lake! The place is still clean; please make sure to put your rubbish in a bin, thank you.
