201 Bergerweg, 1817 ML, Alkmaar
Been here?
Camping Alkmaar is a friendly, family-run green campsite covering 2.8 hectares between Alkmaar and Bergen. It has spacious, clean pitches, including quiet waterside places, and well-maintained sanitary facilities. Alkmaar is about 10 minutes away by bicycle, Bergen about 15 minutes, and the sea about 30 minutes; reception is limited to before 17. Water costs an additional 1,00Euro, and some guests find the dog regulations restrictive despite the campsite being advertised as dog-friendly.

If you want a high-quality, clean campsite within the city, with plenty of facilities, this is your destination. I recommend choosing a pitch for €3 more; it includes access to a lovely beach.
In this price category, I think water should be included, but in fact you have to pay an additional €1.00 for it. They also advertise as dog-friendly, but the regulations ultimately make you feel restricted with a dog. Otherwise, the site is very well located for many excursions.
Great campsite. We stood by the water on large pitches with plenty of space. The sanitary facilities were clean. The city is 10 minutes away and well worth visiting. Bergen is also 15 minutes away. We liked it very much and would return. I also think the price is reasonable compared with what some sites cost nowadays. Thank you.
Very nice campsite, with a pitch by the water overlooking nature. Quick access to the city for a visit. Good value for money, in my opinion.
Very new, clean campsite, with well-mown grass, large pitches, quiet and peaceful, and very new, completely clean toilets. It is 2–3 kilometers from the city center via cycle paths. In short: excellent. Reception hours are very limited; they close before 5 p.m.
Beautiful, clean campsite, with especially nice spacious pitches on field S. Clean and sufficient sanitary facilities. Excellent location: 10 minutes by bike from the center and 30 minutes by bike from the sea. We extended our stay by one night.
Fantastic campsite! We have been coming here for the third year now during the Four Days March of Alkmaar. First with the caravan and this year with the camper. The staff is always friendly, the sanitary facilities are super clean and well maintained. It is really nice to stay here. We would love to come back!
Great city campsite. Friendly staff, everything clean and well maintained. 10–15 minutes by bike to the city center. Ideal for visiting the cheese market.
Great campsite, super clean, and in 15 minutes by bicycle you are in the very beautiful and idyllic old town. We had a pitch at the back, right by the water, and it was very quiet and pleasant there! Highly recommended.
Very good campsite. Everything you need is taken care of and available on site. The city center is 2.5 km away. Recommended!
Very nice city campsite. Great place to visit the city. Bus 166 stops right in front of the door.
Excellent campsite for visiting the city and seeing the historic cheese auction on Fridays. Close to the center, a 10-minute walk away. Facilities okay.
Very nice city campsite. Relatively quiet for that. Large pitches. Sanitary facilities fine. Good bread-roll service. Relatively quick to reach Egmond aan Zee by bicycle. Other great cycling tours are also possible from the campsite.
Well-organized campsite. Surrounded by convenient cycle paths leading to the center in a few minutes. I did not use the sanitary facilities; otherwise I was satisfied.
The campsite is absolutely fine, very clean, nothing was missing, the people were absolutely friendly, and the location is good. I spontaneously decided to stay longer. 40 minutes by train to Amsterdam. Unbeatable. The bus to the station stops right outside. Four stars because it is not completely surrounded by nature.
Good for visiting the city, right in the middle of an industrial area with a lot of traffic. Very clean campsite.
Excellent place to visit the city; on Friday morning a little train takes you to the cheese market. Clean and spacious.
A few minor shortcomings first: The shower area is heated, but the showers are very weak. The toilets are not heated, which is unpleasant. Book a pitch far into the site, not near the noisy road. Otherwise everything is very clean and tidy, excellent bread-roll service, and everyone is friendly and helpful. We recommend the cheese market, canal cruise, and Da Mimmo pizzeria. We would come again!
Friendly welcome. The campsite is clean and quiet. It is well located for visiting the city. On Friday morning, a little train comes to the campsite to go to the cheese market and returns at 1 p.m. It is possible to leave the motorhome at the campsite during this time.
Beautifully located for sightseeing in the city. The campsite is clean and modern. A minor drawback: the showers cannot be adjusted. Otherwise recommended. Price on October 12: 2 people, motorhome plus electricity, €33.40. Piet
Very beautifully laid-out site with very friendly staff. Everything is well maintained and clean. Good location for sightseeing in the city and cycling trips to the sea.
Full stars, top site, very well maintained, very clean sanitary facilities. Nice, helpful staff. Highly recommended. We were there at the end of September 2025.
Camping is good and clean."Normal pitch" are narrow and basically you are 2mt from your neighbors.Toilet and shower are clean. The problem is the noise. Sport courts makes uncomfortable the evening, and last night 4am a car stopped near the campsite with the music max vol + drunk people loud.Is not up to the camping but considering it.(I didn't like to pay 2€ extra for "early check-in at 11.30)
A slightly more expensive campsite, but you get value for your money. Well-maintained camper pitches and sanitary facilities. Pay attention to the reception opening hours! It is open until 5:30 p.m. but usually closes a little earlier, and whether you have a reservation or not, you cannot get in after that! The staff are otherwise friendly. The campsite is close to Alkmaar city center. Street noise? No problem.
The central location for the city and Bergen makes up for the unpleasant road noise, which does not diminish significantly even at night. Otherwise a clean site with everything available. Definitely only for one night.
A simple but perfect campsite for a stopover in Alkmaar. The sanitary facilities were clean.
Be sure to observe the opening hours when arriving. Otherwise, even with a reservation, you will not get in. No chance. Nobody is there and there is no emergency number either.
The campsite is convenient for visiting Alkmaar and very well maintained, but the pitches are very narrow. There is an extra charge for water filling and for entering before 1:30 p.m. At night it is very noisy because of the nearby busy road and the soccer fields. The little train that passes through the campsite blows all the sand from the path beside the pitches.
Also good for visiting Amsterdam: the bus stop is in front of reception, 1 km from Alkmaar Central Station, then the train takes you to Amsterdam in 30 minutes.
The stated price is no longer correct. We paid €37.40 for a panel van with two people. Our assigned pitch had beautiful green grass and the nighttime lighting was low, so it was not disturbing at all. Sanitary facilities modern, but low water pressure, as already mentioned in previous reviews. On Friday for the cheese market, the site was almost fully booked.
The campsite is lovely. The lady at reception was very kind and explained everything we needed to know. A bit expensive: €39 per night for two adults and a dog. One extra euro because we arrived before 1:30 p.m. for early check-in seems excessive. Great showers! Alkmaar is nearby.
Beautifully and lovingly landscaped campsite. Not full even in August. Easy to access without a reservation. With an online reservation, good Wi-Fi is included. You can reach the sea and visit the city by bicycle. Maps and other information are available at reception. Be sure to cycle to Bergen and then through the dunes to Bergen aan Zee. We will be back.
Lovely campsite with truly very friendly, kind, and helpful ladies. Very clean and conveniently connected to the center by a cycle path. I am taking off one star because I did not like paying €1 just for checking in at 11:30 a.m. The amount is laughable, but the principle is not. Perhaps informing guests beforehand would have been more appropriate.
All in all, a beautiful and idyllically located campsite. The Alkmaar cheese market and Alkmaar itself are highly recommended! Minor criticisms: The shower has little water pressure. The lantern lighting at night is very bright. If you leave the motorhome windows open at night in summer, it is very bright inside. And there is an excessive list of rules. But we will come back!
We arrived spontaneously around noon. Friendly welcome. Reception reopens at 2 p.m. Very clean, new, and lovingly designed site. Sanitary facilities very new and clean! Motorhome pitches are partly paved or on grass. Camper 6 m plus two people and a dog: €38.40 per night. Everything included; maximum two dogs allowed.
A large, idyllic site with many pitches. Unfortunately, there is only a very small playground for children. Ideal location for the surrounding area, as mentioned in other reviews. Water costs €0.10 per 10 liters, which is fine. The pitches by the water are the most beautiful. Bread-roll service available.
We were here in Alkmaar from June 22 to 27, 2025, and liked it very much. We saw a lot, especially Alkmaar and Bergen, which was very beautiful. You can take great bike rides. The site was very nice and everything was clean. The staff at reception were very friendly. With dogs, however, we had to drive farther, as there are not many options nearby, but it was not a problem.
Nice campsite with well-organized pitches. Clean service buildings, but there could also have been showers in the small service building. A bit stingy to have to pay for water when filling up. Friendly ladies at reception.
Campsite very well located for visiting Alkmaar. Less than 10 minutes by bicycle via a cycle path. It is also easy to reach the sea in 30 minutes by bicycle via the cycle path that passes through Bergen and crosses the forest. A lovely ride. Modern and clean sanitary facilities. Avoid pitches near the road; choose those near the stream, with their frog songs.
Expensive. €35, and you have to pay extra if you want water! Receptionist not very polite. She said there was little space left even though there were certainly still 30 pitches available! And for such a large campsite there were only 12 showers!
Nice site for exploring Alkmaar. You can quickly reach the city by bicycle. Very friendly welcome; the site is rather functional. Sanitary facilities okay.
We had a good pitch, but you can only book a more private pitch for stays of three nights or more, which is unfortunate. Sanitary facilities are generally good and have toilet paper. Bus 166 stops in front of the campsite and goes directly to the bus station. Departure times are shown in the photos.
