Dark roadside parking, quiet nights

A large, relatively quiet roadside parking area near Weissensee and hiking trails, with a picnic area and mountain-forest surroundings. It is suitable for one or two nights, and the lake is 20 minutes away on foot via the marked trail. There are no services apart from bins, and some traffic passes during the day, with road noise reducing at night. The lay-by is dark because there is no lighting.

Perfect place to spend one or two nights, quiet, with some traffic but nothing unusual. We have not found another place like it near the lake. Highly recommended. It is a 20-minute walk from the lake along the marked trail.
Perfect for a one night stop to grab some sleep. No amenities, it's just a lay-by, but it's a beautiful one in a mountain forest and so quiet. I could honestly hear the autumn leaves falling through the branches!
16/08/2025 - we were here 1 night together with 1 other van. Normal lay-by on a busy road. Road noise did subside from about 9pm. Slept safely.

Good night sleep, little noise, some cars pass but you are out the main road slept until 8am no problems. Google maps will take you into the town so make sure you check park4night, it’s the only lay-by on the road labelled with a P
Top spot, very quiet at night with only a few cars passing by. Picnic area and a sweet panoramic view five minutes' walk away. Bins available; we stood there alone.
Huge, paved parking area right next to the road. Unfortunately, both bins were full and we could not throw anything away. There is enough space for several motorhomes of any size. Also suitable for trailers. There is a picnic area on the hill. Across the road, a path leads up to a panoramic viewpoint with a wonderful view.
Excellent daytime parking for reaching Lake Weissensee on foot or by bicycle.
