Vicolo S. Rocco, 01010, Oriolo Romano
Been here?
Unshaded parking at the start of several hiking paths through the beech forest, with picnic tables and only a few level spaces. Nights are usually quiet, while hikers and walkers bring more activity during the day. The village and its shops are about 500 meters away, but access can be difficult for large or heavy motorhomes; use Vicolo San Rocco rather than Via Fontana Vecchia. Dogs, horses and occasional wild boar have been reported nearby.

Great parking area for the night. We were completely alone here. The only thing that occasionally bothers you is the loud barking of dogs. Otherwise, a very quiet parking area! We even saw fireflies during the night. A few hikers arrived and parked only in the morning. Several hiking routes lead from here into the surrounding area. The oak forest around the corner is definitely worth a visit!
Wonderful green place that serves as the starting point for several hiking trails, including one leading to the beautiful UNESCO-listed beech forest (1 hour). No services, just absolute peace and quiet, with crickets for company.
Beautiful spot in the middle of nature, at the start of different fantastic hiking tracks. Parking, as well as access, might be a little tricky for large, heavy motorhomes. It's hard to find a levelled spot, surely in high season. Still, we stayed 2 nights and loved it!! Please take your rubbish with you, respect nature and the others around you. Safe travels!
Road closed for construction; the road is steep anyway.
Beautiful spot, ideal for vans. Be careful with access: as indicated previously, take Via S. Rocco and do not follow the GPS. I confirm the presence of the horse early in the morning and the grunting of wild boars or pigs during the night. Picnic table and water point with hose right in front of the garden entrance. Please leave the place clean.
Open area in the middle of a crossroads, between gates and private land. Not very attractive. Avoid the unpaved Via Fontana Vecchia, which is unsuitable for tall vehicles. The place can be reached via the paved Vicolo San Rocco.
A quiet parking area where residents occasionally come for walks. A friendly old black dog and a horse roam freely there. We felt safe.
Convenient place, accessible even in the rain. Walking opportunities nearby. During the day, a horse roams freely around the parking area. There is a water point on the other side of the bridge. Busy with hikers at weekends. Good 4G reception.
We had an excellent night! Very close to the forest walks. There are horses and wild boars roaming freely, so be careful with dogs. There are no services, but there are some very close by. More activity during the day because of access to the forest. Nothing at night. Excellent.
Many hikers and mushroom pickers at the weekend, starting around 6:30 a.m. Otherwise OK.
Nice place. You have to find a level spot. WARNING: There are wild boars in the forest. Otherwise, dogs bark, but it is not particularly disturbing, and a train passes by occasionally.
