Large open parking area near Trieste, suitable for visiting the city and free to use. It has no services, but a bus stop is 200m away and the centre is about a 30-minute walk or approximately 20 minutes by bus number 8. The mixed parking is usually considered safe, with some motorhomes staying permanently, and a shopping centre nearby. Nights are often quiet, although one report described a louder night near the port.

Convenient and free for visiting the city (bus 200 m away on Via Zorutti). Mixed parking area, with some permanently stationed campers.
We stopped to visit Trieste but did not spend the night. It seems safe, and there are other motorhomes parked there. Not very close to the center, but you can get there with a walk of a little over half an hour. Near a large shopping center.
It's just a simple parking lot but seamed safe so we spent two nights. Motorhome was left there all day without any problems.
It was a noisier night. Fine for a stopover. It is near the harbor. Large, fully lit parking lot. We had no problems.

Free parking away from the center, about a half-hour walk, but convenient for a 7-meter motorhome. We haven't seen a better, more central alternative if you're traveling by motorhome.

Stopped briefly to visit Trieste. The parking was nearly full, but I managed to find a suitable spot for my long camper. Unfortunately, some smaller cars occupied spaces meant for longer vehicles. The city center is approximately a 20-minute bus ride away on bus number 8.
Not pretty, rather bleak… but perfectly okay and safe for visiting the city and spending the night.
Quiet night- Bus number 8 from down the hill by the shopping centre into town, 1.5€ . Felt very safe overnight, bins across the road. Top marks for a free city site.
We stayed here for an afternoon and evening and rode electric scooters into the city (15–20 minutes). Many parked motorhomes and also some cars. We felt safe.

Free big carpark with lots of caravans parked. Good location for visiting the centre, about 30 minutes by foot. We felt a bit uneasy leaving the van unattended there at first but everything was fine, we were parked for about 4 hours. There is also a lot of people/cars coming and going to the carpark so that felt more secure.
