96 Kesselfallstraße, 5710, Kaprun
Been here?
A bus parking area at the end of the road, used for buses taking tourists to the dams. A separate motorhome parking area above the 2 meter height-restricted parking garage may be assigned by staff, and access can involve a barrier. The road is sometimes closed in winter because of avalanche risk. The site is officially associated with bus parking, so availability for motorhomes depends on current access arrangements.

Whole Kaprun and Zell am See are strictly controlled for overnight stay. I think this place is safe, noone comes here to check. In the morning the bus driver or attendant let you move behind the barrier, there’s a dedicated place for cars above 2m high. I think you could possibly stay overnight behind the barrier if you ask. I didn’t, the place was too busy and dusty.
Good place, but the whole road gets locked down in winter occasianally due to avalanche risk.
At the entrance to the parking garage there is a sign saying that motorhomes may continue driving. At the top there is a separate parking area just for motorhomes. The staff open the barrier and then you can park there. It worked without any problems.Translating
You should not assume you are allowed to stay here. From the parking garage onward, the road is signposted for buses only. When we reached the Kesselhaus, having taken bus line 660, the area above was completely full of buses and some construction vehicles. It is better to park lower down and take the bus up. With a guest card, the bus is free.Translating
We went there, but there was no other vans or motorhomes, so we better moved back down, because the parking us officially only for busses.
Access via the mountain road was no problem for our camper. However, the parking garage has a height limit of 2 meters. We drove past the garage and were warmly welcomed above it. We were then assigned a separate parking area just for campers—excellent!Translating
The parking area is fine for parking. The sanitary facilities are absolutely disgusting: no soap, no paper towels, and as for general cleanliness, let’s not even talk about it.Translating
