Beach parking, difficult access

We went to visit the beach and parked on the roadside, but when we went down toward the beach we began seeing cars and small vans descending and parking on the same path. There is little room to go up and down with cars, and the road is in poor condition. The beach is fabulous, with a lovely beach bar and very clean tables, but the descent is horrible, especially with children.

Fabulous beach at low tide. Very steep loose gravel road access, 4x4 motorhomes at least. Cafe closed down, no services, but overnighting now ok. Bottom park down concrete slope is more level.

Magnificent place. We parked directly in the restaurant parking lot because it was off-season and the restaurant was closed. Be careful, though: access remains very steep and rugged.

The place and the beach are beautiful. No services. Down below are a couple of open areas and the beach bar. However, it is not suitable for motorhomes. The descent is manageable, but it is so steep, with so many potholes and cars parked on both sides of the road, that it is not feasible with a motorhome carrying weight at the rear. Vans are fine.

Great spot and simply incredible beach, but be careful: you must park in the parking area at the bottom, not in the bend with the incredible view, tempting though it is. We received a €100 fine for illegal parking.

Overnighting is complicated because it is on the side of the road, right on a frequently used bend. Perfect as a place to go for lunch or dinner at sunset.

It is indeed a beautiful place, but the Civil Guard woke us in the morning and told us we were not allowed to stay there. They said that in Asturias camping is only allowed at campsites. Thankfully, they let us leave without a fine.

It is a very beautiful place to spend the night, with wonderful views of the beach. We were very peaceful and had no problems with the Civil Guard issuing fines. The road is difficult to access: unpaved, very steep, and full of potholes.

Warning: getting back up is particularly difficult. A 4x4 is recommended. The track is covered with deep ruts and potholes. Getting back up is not guaranteed without a suitable vehicle, especially as the track deteriorates every day. The place is absolutely superb. Park in the bend before reaching the very bottom if you decide to go there.

The road to get there is unpaved, with quite a few potholes and a steep incline. Not suitable for all vehicles. We managed it with an H2L3 camper without much trouble. There are several places to stop along the way to the beach; the lowest is behind the beach bar, which is closed in the low season. Before that, there are a couple of other open areas with beautiful views of Ballota Beach. It is worth it.

Lovely spot overlooking beach. No signs regarding overnight parking. There are 3 spots. Palace for 1 van on a small ledge about 30m above the main car park, the main car park itself, and the bar car park. The last one has a loud diesel generator all night. Beware the very steep bumpy descent, you will not get back up in wet weather without chains or 4 wheel drive. Dry conditions only.
