Hospital Road, H71 RX81, Clifden
Been here?
A large, flat car park beside a school and sports pitch, offering a quiet overnight stop close to Clifden. A ten euro payment is requested, with no services available, and the pubs are about 10min away on foot. Access is easier via Galway Road because the other side of Hospital Road is very narrow and tree-lined.

Great place to stay overnight in Clifton. Located next to a school and sports field, very quiet at night. Please do not forget to pay the ten euros.
Really good stop. We went down to the lifeboat station first (and there is a sign now saying no overnight parking, although you might argue that it doesn’t cover the flat parking area) - but were a bit concerned about getting y back up . So… we left and came to the school. Flat. Feels like you’re nestling in the hills and not too car parky at all. €10 to support the local school is a good deal!
Highly recommended. Quiet and an inexpensive alternative. Ten minutes' walk to the pubs. Rarely visited.
No services. Get there via Galway Road; the other side of Hospital Road is very, very narrow and heavily wooded, making it difficult with an overcab motorhome. Leave the place clean.
