16 Route de Montfavet, 84000, Avignon
Been here?
This is a free car park useful for visiting Avignon, without a height barrier and about 600 meters from the city walls. Recent visitors have walked roughly 20 minutes to the centre, while a 7.5m van has fitted; the original guidance recommends 6.60m as the maximum length. It is frequently busy, with road noise and earlier reports of freight trains, so overnight stays are not recommended. Bins are available.

Excellent camper spot from which to walk to the center.
We found two parallel spaces and fit our 7.5 m van. We spent the day in the city and then moved on.
We slept here; okay as an emergency option for one night, but nothing more.
Safe and practical parking area. Twenty minutes on foot to the city. The road is not too loud and there is a garbage bin. Quite heavily used, so you need luck to find a space. However, spaces become available frequently.
Good enough for a city parking area. No problem as a van if you park on the street side. On Sunday evening, a food truck arrived with pizza, döner, etc. It was nevertheless very quiet and orderly. We slept well here until 7 a.m., when things became busy.
Free parking; we were able to park our 6 m van. About 20 minutes on foot from the center. We stayed here for a whole afternoon to visit the city and had no problems. The neighborhood is busy, so we do not recommend it for spending the night, although it is possible.
Free parking, 15 minutes on foot from the center. Perfect for visiting the city during the day; overnight stay not tested.
One of the few free spots. No height restriction, and several spaces were still available; all the others nearby were full. Overnight stay? It could be done, although it is not particularly nice. There is no prohibition sign.
The neighborhood is not very inviting, but we were able to visit the city without problems for a good two hours. Twenty minutes on foot from the Palais des Papes.
