This is a narrow roadside pull-out on the serpentine road to the youth hostel, intended for vehicles to pass rather than for parking overnight. It offers a very wide view over the region and is suitable for a short pause. The access road is poorly visible, very narrow, and can be dangerous when vehicles approach from above.

This is definitely NOT a parking area, and certainly not a place to spend the night. The hairpin road up to the youth hostel has poor visibility and is very narrow. This spot is intended for passing vehicles to pull over. It is a passing bay. It is also dangerous if someone comes from above.
Beautiful view for a break, but not a place to stay overnight, as it is directly on the access road to the youth hostel. Heavy traffic from cars and hikers.
Wonderful place, great view. The Hainich National Park is also very beautiful.
Parked between the hut and the fire pit in front of the brick barbecue, and did not behave like campers :) Anyone who does not dare can stand in the bay on the barely used road. In the morning, we had a wonderful breakfast at the huge stone table above the site, with a great view of the beautiful surrounding countryside. Best place so far! From the youth hostel, a beautiful short circular trail called the "Urwald Path" leads through Hainich.
