Secluded wooded site, winter water unavailable

Certainly quiet as an overnight stop. €8 per night is cheap. We only wanted to visit Charlottenhöhle…. Why is there no distinction in the motorhome car park between short-term parking and overnight stays? CORRECTION: The barrier at the regular car park is 3.20 m high. According to the cashier, motorhomes may also use this car park for visiting the cave.

We found this great, friendly place and stayed 5 nights instead of 1. Because of the cool location with a stream, cave, playground and restaurant, there are many children living and playing here, and they are not quiet even after 18:00. We enjoyed it and will come back. Many thanks for the good time and to the nice ladies in the restaurant.

You cannot hear anything from the country road at night. Otherwise, everything you need is there.

Great place for beautiful walks and bike rides. Toilet only open from 10:00 to 17:00!! Wonderful playground with caves, climbing and scrambling, plus a stream. You stand reasonably close together, which is fine, but unfortunately some smokers sit right under your window and we had the smell inside.

We had a wonderfully quiet stay, on a beautiful level and accessible pitch. At first it took a little searching to figure out how things worked, but then everything was fine. Payment envelopes with information brochures are hanging by the concrete booth. Put the money in the envelope, including the correct details, and place the payment slip in front of the window. Done. Toilet/shower at the playground; information is posted there. Walking distance to the cave.

A little isolated but quiet and clean, with an excellent price, five minutes on foot from a very good restaurant. The caves, 100 metres away, are worth visiting. In the middle of nature with many walking trails and lots of greenery. The dog will be very happy. We will return to see the caves. Restaurant open from April to October.

Beautifully located, but I would describe the place more as a campsite than a motorhome site. Caravans/motorhomes with awnings or covers take up two spaces. With more consideration, probably five additional motorhomes could have fit. That does not change the beautiful location and the lively party atmosphere next door.

We were there in January; electricity and pitch €8, you need nothing more and we expected nothing more. Ideal for passing through. Secluded and quiet in the forest.

The road is louder than expected. Even now it is being used by loud motorcyclists to rev their engines! In winter there are no services apart from electricity.

Quiet overnight stay despite the country road nearby. Great starting point for hikes, good for people with dogs. Drawback: toilets and showers are only available during the restaurant's opening hours; you have to cross a meadow, which is slippery and muddy in wet weather, and it is relatively far. Electricity connection is fairly priced. Overall, quite good for me apart from the toilet situation.

Quiet, clean motorhome pitch (€7/night, 2 adults, 1 dog, camper under 6 m). Plenty of space for walks with the dog, with tables and benches. Very quiet despite the country road. Grey-water and drinking-water facilities available, unfortunately only a tiny rubbish bin. We arrived too late for showers/toilets.

Stayed there for one night. Everything was great. Highly recommended.

Great location. The access is a little narrow; in the dark you have to look carefully and always follow the cave signs. Wastewater and water without problems.

Beautiful, quiet motorhome pitch with everything you need, in the middle of nature, with hiking trails right by the site! At €7, there is nothing to complain about! There are plenty of electricity connections, although they cost €1 for 8 hours. You can take wonderful walks with dogs on the Jakobswegle! Only a few minutes' walk to the HöhlenSchauLand adventure museum, Charlottenhöhle and Kaltenburg castle ruins!

Very calm and quit, for only 7EUR. BUT toilets and showers only available during day when restaurant is open from 10.30. payment by cash when closed;, take envelope from box on wall, read instructions on billboard next to it and then drop sealed envelope in mailbox on side of the building.

Calling this a motorhome area is ridiculous. It is true that it is quiet for sleeping, but filling the fresh-water tank is impossible because the tap has no thread and gives very little water. As for emptying, you can only dump grey water; you have to take the black water with you because there is nowhere to dispose of it. I will not return here.

A very reasonable price for so many facilities. At the visitor centre you can pay €2 for the shower, after which you receive a key to open the cubicle. One price allows your entire party to shower. We had to search a little for the toilet dump, but it turns out it is in the same place as the grey-water dump. There is a slide in the ground to open the flap.

We stayed here for one night with a car and rooftop tent and slept well.

We were there in April 2025. Very beautiful and quiet pitches. About 150 metres away there is a stream for children to play in, a playground and a restaurant. There you can borrow a key for the toilet/showers against a deposit. In my view, excellent for a stopover or even a stay of several days. Caravans are also allowed.

Very beautiful and well-maintained site, surrounded by hiking trails. Visiting Charlottenhöhle is a highlight. We had a quiet night; everything was excellent.

Very nicely located site in nature. A beautiful playground with a stream is within walking distance. Space for 15 campers, although unfortunately they are parked so far apart that 15 certainly do not fit. We still got a place at 18:00 on a Friday. Clear recommendation.

Quiet, somewhat secluded motorhome pitch with electricity machine (€1/kWh) plus €7 per night. Charlottenhöhle is within walking distance (€10 entrance). Beautiful hikes are possible. Cassette emptying available. No shopping facilities.

Quiet motorhome pitch in the middle of nature with a view of Kaltenburg. Two outdoor tables and seats, ideal for dogs and cyclists. No toilet disposal, and the water tap has no thread, is conical, and shuts off after barely a litre—very bad. Otherwise everything is good. Playground and restaurant nearby. Worth seeing: Charlottenhöhle and Kaltenburg.
