Paying parking area next to a senior citizens' centre, used by campers for day parking near the start of the Oeschinenbahn trail; overnight camping is not permitted anywhere in Kandersteg and is actively discouraged, with fines possible. Arrive early as it fills quickly. Daytime fee has risen over time, now around 12 CHF, cheaper than nearby alternatives. Central, walkable to the trailhead in about 10 minutes.

Better than the other parking areas in this town. Campers are clearly not welcome in this area, but unlike some others, this spot allows daytime parking. It is cheaper too: 12 CHF for the day, while the other parking areas cost 16 CHF.
Unfortunately, it now also costs 12 CHF per day, like all the other parking areas in this region.
Overnight stays are not permitted.
FOR INFORMATION Free overnight stays are prohibited throughout Kandersteg and are not welcome. There are enough designated sites. Expect buses and traffic signs.
Arrive early to get a parking space. Centrally located. You can also pay with a parking app. Still inexpensive for Switzerland.
Perfect spot to park for just 6CHF per day. 10 minutes walk from the start of the trail.
